I decided to stay single while I served because of all the infidelity I saw, and sorry to say, part of. When I was stationed at Ft Stewart, everybody was farking someone they werent supposed to. Go to the club when the brigade was in the field, it was like shooting fish in a barrel. I don't trust women very much.

/she's tradableking_nacho: I used to work for a tech firm and we were looking at expanding our local advertising, and the billboard company sent over this drop dead gorgeous sales rep, in this tiny little business suit. The owner had his desk out in the open, and happened to be on the way to both server closet and break room. Immediately the IM alert went out, and like a parade we all needed a Mt Dew, or had to check a server. One after the other we all went by a couple times.

The lady was sitting up on his desk, bending over showing off her cleavage, moving her legs around, we were all enjoying the show.

But the funniest part about it, the owner was gay, and this lady had no clue.

Maybe not after that . . .

That explains why you never heard of "trains" while in the AF.
Rule # 1, You don't talk about this with females.
Rule # 2, You DO NOT talk about this with females.
Rule # 3, You MUST brag about it to the guys who know said female, if they might know who that is..bragging is optional.

And 9beers is correct. He never said "all" he said "most"(and please, make sure you read the whole post before flipping out, i mean, if you can't see the difference between "all" and "most"...). There's the .01% that's GI Jane material, real go getters, not just something to prove(noted below), a true desire to serve and challenge themselves, the rest of the top 20% were almost normal, and the rest had severe issues, and that's the AF, the other branches are not quite so favorable.

The exception - certain career fields. I never hung out with Admin or Medical much, know they had their share of "unhinged", but no where near the extreme ratio of women placed in roles that are traditionally men(examples : mechanics - SP - fuels - even Avionics to a degree).

Whether it be a chip on their shoulder with something to prove(to others), where they thrived on the attention and developed GPS(not typically hot, but acted like everyone wanted to get in their pants....Golden Pussy Syndrome), women of the ...dorm mattress(nttiawwt per say, but it forms an image, and image should be a concern in the military), or they were the recipient of trains(frequent or single events), there is always that off kilter feel of a chick that isn't quite able to cut a normal social life.

Only those that got off base ASAP were even remotely normal.(work hard and have the right record coming in, that can be just a month or two on your first base)

But don't take it personally, far from it. Males in the military have their exploded ratio of crazy/loser to normal as well. The services draw fark-ups and retards and degenerates, and the desperate, because they turn no one away[unless you're a really bad fark-up...seemingly no limit on retardation].

/AF - 6 years - Avionics
//Dorms the whole time..(I PCS'd a lot, once overseas, and knew I was getting out at the end of my term, so I never bothered moving out of the dorms)...so I saw and heard about a lot. Never participated though. That kind of shiat can get you in trouble[not that I would otherwise].
///FYI for those that don't know, AF has no barracks[lots of people per room] except on deployments[and basic training], otherwise it's more akin to tiny apartments with, at MOST, one roomate. [except for maybe the odd one off base] Hell, when I was in the UK, it was an apartment, full kitchen and bath(shared), between two rooms, all single occupants.

Anyhow, I feel for the family in this case, no matter how messed up she was/wasn't.

Spare me. If you say "Most military women are dirty sluts" expect most military women to be offended.
You may be right about it varying across career fields, I was a linguist, I don't know what other career fields might have been like. And most of us didn't live in dorms after we finished training, we lived in civilian apartments like normal people.

Granolabar: I don't know what other career fields might have been like. And most of us didn't live in dorms after we finished training, we lived in civilian apartments like normal people.

That's because you were more or less a civilian for hire.

The operational force of enlisted airmen were not allowed, typically, to move off base(if single), until they hit SrA, and even then, at some bases it wasn't guaranteed until SSgt. Dorms are just cheaper for payroll than housing and food allowances.

Granolabar: Spare me. If you say "Most military women are dirty sluts" expect most military women to be offended.

IF I say most, that's at least 51%....but 100% take offense, even when it's not directed at them. I don't get why some women think that no women behave in an uncommon manner, and that statistical truths are offensive, but there you have it. Most women have that same condition.

Go be a female libtard somewhere else. Your hunt for legitimate outrage here will just result in making you look like more of a dumb twit than you already are. But hey, feel free to hang out if you like the much deserved admonition for being an uptight yet severely ignorant twat, gives us something to do to pass the time.

Spare me! Spare us all!

Whoa, how those anger management classes coming? Not well, I see.
Be real, no one really knows what it's like to be in other career fields. Very few have crosstrained more than once, so all anyone can really speak to is their own experience in 1, maybe 2 career fields. My experience is that most of the women I worked with (and the intelligence field is chock full of ladies) were not "dirty sluts."
I'm not a militant feminist because I take exception to most of the women I worked with, my friends, being called dirty sluts by a couple of mouthbreathing knuckledraggers.

Who cares what other career fields are like?

What you are still failing to grasp, is that, by and large, a dorm type scenario, will have all the types of fields that I mentioned, all living in one area.
The only reason I mention other career fields, is that some tended to be located in other places, typically breaking down as I mentioned, but I'll refine it.

Medical
Admin
Services
SP
Maintenance(being specialized, you could have 5-10 different fields all housed in the same large dorm)

Each area has it's odd proportions, services tends to be in the middle, more women in the top two, and very very few in the bottom two. Of those bottom two, the women did indeed tend to be unhinged.

That's the point I was making. I mean, I'm sorry, I tried to use smaller words, it is fark after all. It is amusing though, that I still lost you, the linguist, along the way.

No one called you, or your friends, sluts. Get off your cross, summer's coming sister, and we're going to have a bonfire or two. Or stay on, that's cool too.

Knuckledragger indeed. I did mention my career field, what, did you not see that? Science geeks, or pointy heads, in knuckledragger parlance, certainly not mouthbreathers.

No, you're not prejudice at all.

Come on, I know you can cram some more logical fallacies in there.

Judging you as a twat =/= judging military intel as a whole.

As for military women, I speak from relatively vast experience, not assumption. I had 9 months of training, excluding basic, on two different bases, and 3 duty stations following that. I trained, worked, and socialized among many career fields and even branches of service, to include many UK troops.(They liked our NCO club, because theirs was terrible), tack in TDY's to and from several other bases, and that's quite a listing compared to some military members that manage to spend 20 years in one location, behind a desk, with his low number of co-workers likewise changing very seldom.

In that time, I knew thousands of people from which to draw the theory that I've noted here.

You, admittedly, know nothing of other career fields other than your own.

This is not some anti-woman conspiracy we've got going on here, that some have come to the same conclusions, I even noted how males face the same type of variance.

Also, where did I say being a slut was bad? I LOVE sluts. More fun than prudes any day of the week.

demaL-demaL-yeH: You are quite correct: Intel lives in its own insulated world.

You called me a "civilian for hire" because I said I was intel.

Also, I see that you belong to that peculiar subcategory of military men who pursue promiscuous women while secretly hating them for being promiscuous. There's a few like you in every squadron I've ever been in, easily identifiable by the way they refer to women as "sluts" and "whores" while checking out the rack of every girl in the room. Generally speaking, they've either been burned by a slutty woman, or merely seen so much of it, that they've become disgusted with these women, but can't pass up the easy sex. Which is it for you?

Hmm, you don't seem like a cunning linguist.

To be fair:
cunning =/= ability to memorize

No. It isn't about memorization. The morning after your first dream in the target language is when you know you might pass.

To be fair:
Learning to think in another language is quite cunning.

/Especially when it's a Cat IV language.

I must be slipping. Didn't even occur to me. I was wondering how hard mandarin is compared to a latin or germanic language.

You may want to look up the definition of cunning.

Extremely.

No, you might want to:
CUNNING 1: dexterous or crafty in the use of special resources (as skill or knowledge) or in attaining an end

/Hoist by your own rpetard.
//What are you, some monolingual 'merkin?

Imo, difficulty depends more on the person. Japanese was much easier for me than even Spanish and German.

Sure, some could be quantified,by some, as "more difficult" due the sheer amount of characters and rules.

I found it easier to replace English with a new structure than it was to shift to a more similar language with a lot of parallels.

It's not inflected, is it? As opposed to Japanese?
I was thinking how difficult reading must be, since some words have multiple symbols, and one symbol can have multiple meanings.

Not really. Japanese is agglutinative, but mostly on verbs.
Chinese uses word order. Tonal is the real biatch, but the idiomatic shortcuts are just killer.

Regurgitation of memorized information is not dexterous or crafty.

OK, maybe i'll give you some lenience on dexterous, but that's being intellectually dishonest.

Cunning, on the whole, represents a clever use of functional knowledge, such as a means of thinking outside of the box, a creative application, that would typically not make a simple transition from A to B, counter to the very purpose of translating for clarity.

Now, if you're deciphering, there's some ground to be had there, but that's not just simply being a linguist, there's also some cryptography in there, and that job label would be something more along the lines of analyst. "Why would he say the eagle has landed?"
