As a Royals fan all I can say is: what's a lead? Is that something new?

That's not even the remarkable thing here. The 5.1 scoreless innings from the Indians bullpen is.

Nah. Mariners usually have good pitching. We kind of have a tradition of blowing giant leads to the Indians, though.

Well, keep in mind that it was against the Mariners.

The Indians bullpen ERA before last night was over 6.

And Seattle is hitting .236/.281/.354 as a team. Cleveland's bullpen vs Seattle's offense is just a battle to see who can suck more

Yeah, but they'd already put up 8 runs on Justin Masterson.

The Royals used to have them in the 80s.

I still remember that infamous game back in 2001. I was watching it on TV with my Grandpa, and he occasionally had a look on his face that said "I want to throw a brick at the screen".

Allowing seven runs in one inning. Wow! Washington has only allowed 30 all season.

Millwood is given the largest lead he'll probably see for the remainder of the season...and gives up 6 runs without even recording an out in the 5th. WTF?

The Impossible Return from 2001. It was a Cleveland State University student who put that together back in the Middle Ages of the Internet. I hope that he's well employed now.

I turned that game off in disgust in the 5th inning. Couldn't believe the box score the next morning.

The remarkable thing is the Mariners scored 8 runs and they didn't need 10 games to do it.

It happens. Boston allowed 8 in the 8th last night.

That was awesome! Cheesy, but awesome. I remember watching that game on TV...WTAM will sometimes replay the broadcast on boring February weekend afternoons.

Oh, man. I remember that game, too. I was trimming my great-Uncle's hedges for him, and I just wanted the radio off. I was sure it would stop eventually.

Yeah, they did live break ins during the Yankees game. Still unbelievable. Even during a 116 game winning season, they sucked
