Good start, but someone needs to jack that whiner Crosby for starting fights when he knows his teammates will come do the dirty work for him.

Where's tonight's playoff thread! :D

What bugs me most about Asham's suspension is that, theoretically, he could be back for round 2.

You're not exactly providing incentive to play clean hockey, Shanny.

I'd think Adams & coach Blysma would just hand their fines over to Crosby to pay, since he was directly responsible for that. Hartnell can be a douche too, but he wouldn't have reacted the way he did if Crosby simply gave him a quick bear hug instead of grabbing and tugging downward the neck of his jersey.

I don't think he cares about a strong suspension as much as keeping Asham as far away from the Flyers as possible. Four games is enough to keep him from seeing them until next year no matter what.

Otherwise he would have gotten 1 game too.

Hartnell is a jerk, but he was totally out-jerked by the Pens, and actually had me rooting for him (Caps fan). I agree on Adams, he was bailing Cindy out. What did Blysma do, again? Leave the Desitin out of the Pens' diapers? Again?

On top of that, if by some miracle the Pens were to win the series, I don't think they would put him back into a lineup that just brought them back from an 0-3 series deficit.

Asham's time as a Penguin is over...

Bylsma's fine was connected to the Adams suspension (coach automatically has to cut a check for a player instigating a fight that late in the game). But, he probably did that, too.

/Byslma doesn't strike me as a coach that would just give his guys a "hey, let's goon it up out there" greenlight.

If I were the Flyers, I would lose game four on purpose so someone could "accidentally" flying elbow Neal. Since Shanabanigans takes his statement about both headhunting hits not being on purpose, I'd also try to sell him a bridge while I'm at the hearing.

No, he seems to have a fair amount of class, but he's supposed to set the tone. He sure didn't help himself in this series, not that they were going anywhere anyway. This was probably all caused by the realization that the Pens weren't nearly as good as they thought they were.

/Has anybody seen all the Crosby fans lately? They were here a week or so ago.

Nahh, the Cup's the goal. The Pens are just a small, tar-covered speedbump on the road to it.

We're still here, but he has to do something worth talking about. So far being a punk biatch isn't engaging his fervent base. Maybe he should apologize for being a douche (I hate the Flyers too, but come on man).

I think the biggest surprise out of all of this is that Asham had never been suspended or fined in his 13 years in the game. That makes me more willing to believe he wasn't trying to murder Schenn.

Flyers Fan here.

Here's something I've been thinking about, what if Crosby's antics is a result of his concussions?
I'm not talking about in a "I've got to be a badass to protect myself." But what if this is a neurological reaction - his actions are actually the result of brain damage?

tonight is not the night to settle the score for the flyers, that is next season
hockey players have good memories, they'll get revenge, but on their own time table
they're not going to do anything to get themselves suspended for games in the second round

Probably a tabloid newspaper format, back cover is treated like a front cover for sports and it works it's way backwards, so if you just like the sports part you flip the paper over and read it backwards.

Like Hockey, the playofs get their own threads. Regular season hockey and Basketball threads are sparce and un populated.

First round threads are not half as populare as this. Once you get to the second and thir rounds they get aroun 1200-1600 posts. Matchups determine how popular Conference and NBA finals get.

The only threads that get consistent greens now are the Sunday and Monday NFL threads and the Monday Night Raw threads (since the NFL ones consistently do over 3000+ and 2000+ respectively and the Raw thread does over 1,000).

My personal favorite is this one I submitted a few years ago. Not only did it get greened after the game was over, but it was the second hockey thread of the night.

This is confusing. I've been rooting for the Flyers because for the first time ever a team from Philly is the lesser of two evils. However, I can't have this series end quickly enough for the Flyers to be well-rested moving forward, so I'd like the Pens to win a game or two before they're knocked out.
