My picks for the day: Ottawa, Philly, LA.

The last game in the NYR-OTT series was about the best playoff game I've ever seen when I was cheering for the losing team. Here's hoping Lundqvist has a weakness tonight.

Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to riots in Vancouver?

I'm also excited for the post-series handshake brawl in Philly.

I heard Pittsburgh called up 3 guys from the Iron League just for tonight's game.

Do it, Kings. End them.

The Daily News could have come up with something better than that..... actually no, they are a pretty shiatty tabloid.

Whatever, GO FLYERS! Close this thing out, don't stoop to the Pens level with the cheap stuff, and shake Crosby's hand with the biggest shiat-eating grin you can plaster on your face.

Like most y'all I'll be tuning into the carnage that will be the Phi/Pit game.
However, and I never thought I'd ever utter this phrase in my life, I'm really looking forward to the LA/Van game.

Ahhhh there is so much delicious whining from Pens fans in the comments below the story on the Asham and Neal suspensions in the Post-Gazette.

2012-04-18 02:45:38 PM
I don't think there would be rioting in Van really. It's only the first round, and at this point most people would flip the game off with a barely muttered "fark" and go on with their lives.

2012-04-18 02:50:10 PM
The only thing that could cheer me up after Detroit's game last night is seeing Vancouver and Pitt get swept.

2012-04-18 02:59:02 PM
I've already warned the kids that if they want/need help with their homework that they better get it well before 7:30 - either that or wait until their mother gets home from work (provided that she isn't racing in to watch the games too). That's about the only thing that I hate about the first round of the playoffs, that there is almost too much great hockey on most every night

/gave up on NJ/FLA last night after the 3 goals in the first 6 min - "Ah, Florida won't be able to come back from this....." oops
//Oh well, the Nashville/Detroit game was pretty good too.

My predictions for two of tonight's teams for tomorrow morning.....

Hopefully the Rags pull out a win as well.

Hmmm, 4.5 hours to get a bunch accomplished so that the evening is relatively uninterrupted....

I'd like to point out that Ottawa hasn't had a playoff win at home since this monstrosity occurred:

The rest of the day better hurry up. Been listening to XM's Home Ice all day at work, wishing it could be game time.

Nice jab, subby, though I think Canuck fans are going to play it off like they don't give a fark if they lose in the first round, sweep or no sweep.

/Anybody else think Vigneault is gone with a Vancouver 1st round exit?
//Hope it goes at least 6 before they bow out so LA doesn't sit fot a week, lose momentum, and go 4 and out in round 2.
///Not a Kings fan, just want a good series to watch for the surviving West top seed

I hope at some point tonight, Crosby loses his glove, and a Flyer skates out of his way to go retrieve it for him, and hands it to him like a waiter at a high class restaurant delivering a menu

I suspect this will be the tamest of the 4 games. Clearly what they have been doing isn't working for the pens. So they will be looking to change that, and at the least, save some face for when they do get bounced.

My biggest fear as a flyers fan is, obviously, playing the rags. If we have to face them in the second round, its going to suck, because we will be sitting around for a week before game 1, and can lose some of the emotion this series has built.

If it comes down to a one on one fight, yeah, kick his ass. Other than that just complete the sweep and send his punk ass packing

But I'm sure him and Fox won't have any regrets if they're done working for the season.
