Never mind Youkilis, what are his feelings on Fidel Castro?

Somebody accidentally his quote.

Re-think that one - if/when the Heat finally win a title, then they become less significant.

Kind of like Phil Mickelson won a title and we didn't have to hear "best golfer to not win a major? Will he ever win one?" anymore. He just became another good golfer.

As a Ranger fan, that game was entertaining as hell to watch. Its scary to think that a team that's been to the WS the past two years looks even better this year. We'll see what happens when they start playing real baseball teams, but at least for now its been a fun ride.

Like when they play the Tigers starting tomorrow? Four game series, could be super awesome.

If you let Melancon face a couple hundred batters he might finish an inning.

Exactly. Tigers, then Yankees, then Rays. Its a pretty brutal week and a half. We'll see where the Rangers stand afterwards, but for now at least, everything's looking good.

They are an unlikable group. I am rooting for the cap at this point.

The Youk/Bobby thing was a disaster, especially with Pedroia coming out and saying, "that's not how we do things around here, he will learn that."

Hey, Dustin. MAYBE YOU GUYS NEED TO CHANGE UP WHAT YOU ARE DOING. They needed to get some people out of that locker room this off season and all they did was add Bobby to the mix.

They are making it tough to root for the team and go to the ball park. But there are few things I like more than a nice day at Fenway,

Di Atribe: So what was the best part? I think I liked the part where Napoli hit that home run over the Green Monster.

Napoli's still got a lot of work to do in the cages before he's back to where he was at the end of last season. That said though, that ball wouldn't have been out in a lot of parks. Like Yosemite, maybe? I think it landed somewhere just outside Saugus.

And what happens when Cruz gets going?

What's really impressive is the tear Hambone is on right now. 5 homers in 11 games puts him on a pace for 70+ for the season. It's still waaaaaay too early to project that, but it's a great early-season trend. Contract year?

And just out of curiosity, how many long balls does Pujols have so far?

meanmutton: Like when they play the Tigers starting tomorrow? Four game series, could be super awesome.

Oh, it will be super awesome. Both teams are playing really well right now & the Rangers are putting a lot of balls in play (except for the 6 taters last night). We know the Tigers can hit, but I'm interested to get a look at their defense.

While I appreciate that this ownership group has brought two WS victories to the team, I really didn't like the way they handled the Francona dismissal. Add to the fact that they brought in Valentine who I do not like at all.

Plus I don't like that they've turned Fenway into a farking amusement park. Personally, they should have razed that pisshole and built a new park instead of doing these minor improvements each season. I'm waiting for them to add some monstrosity in centerfield like the Marlins did.

I can see it now, a giant animatronic Neil Diamond that pops up in the seventh inning and plays Sweet Caroline and has fireworks shooting out of its ears.

I totally get that. As a Ranger fan, I can say that I've been there, done that & have the t-shirt to prove it. Welcome to the world of "V-ball"! Bobby's an asshat of the highest order, IMO. And based on Pedroia's comments, I think it's safe to say that he's already dangerously close to losing control of that clubhouse. And I'd question whether or not he ever had control of it.

Honest question. What have they done that's like an amusement park? I've only been to Fenway once & that was back in '95.

Dude, as a fellow Rangers fan I am right there with you in enjoying the hell out of this season so far. While it's awesome that Pujols hasn't got it going yet, and the LA alberts are already 5 games behind the Rangers after only 11 games, let's not poke the bear.

No trying to poke the bear, my man. Just pointing out something that I don't believe has been brought up yet & really wondering what's going on there as a whole more than anything.

Like I've said before, I seriously doubt that the Halos will end up as a .500 (or worse) ball club this year, so let's watch the good guys keep on rolling and putting some real distance between themselves & the rest of the division.

Cruz (especially) & Napoli are due to really heat up and I'm expecting big games out of them over the weekend in Det.

I just wanted to point out that Melancon may have had the WORST relief outing in MLB history last night.

Link

In the span of only 26 pitches, the punch-drunk right-hander allowed a double-walk-homer-homer-walk-homer sequence that sent the Red Sox' win expectancy spiralling from "yeah, there's still an outside shot, but better luck next time" territory down towards something more closely approximating "you got knocked the --- out!"

Melancon allowed six earned runs without retiring a single Rangers batter. Again dating back to 1918, there have been 859,233 individual regular-season pitcher appearances; before Tuesday night, there had been only 97 recorded instances where a pitcher yielded six or more earned runs without retiring a single batter, with Melancon's night of horror becoming the 98th such instance.

Melancon is now the only pitcher in that entire set to have allowed three homers during the course of his outing.
