My two-year old loves it when I dangle him out the window by his feet.

Please remember that Ann Romney is 100% off limits, no matter how much the campaign uses her.

Keep hammering away. Maybe you can turn it into a meaningful story.

Of course she is. She clearly isn't making campaign statements at all and isn't involved and it's wrong to even think about questioning anything she says.

I know! Why did we force this woman to make campaign statements AGAIN? Have we no decency?

GAT_00: Why did we force this woman to make campaign statements AGAIN?

How the dog travels is a campaign statement?

I won't attack her personally, but I don't think she's helping Romney's campaign with statements like this.

Well, the dog has been an issue before, mostly because it's inhumane and how Romney saw nothing wrong with it. That makes any of his wife's statements on it campaign by default.

2012-04-17 08:13:53 AM
From TFA-

"The dog loved it," Ann Romney said. "He would see that crate and, you know, he would, like, go crazy because he was going with us on vacation. It was to me a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him in the kennel for two weeks."

I don't know about you guys, but I always think it's rather strange when people say stuff like "the dog went crazy when he saw the crate." I mean how do you know it's crazy in a good way or crazy in a "WTF I don't want to go speeding around on the roof again" way?

You so funny.

How many people really think travelling in a dog carrier is inhumane?

Now, how many of those people have had their dog transported on a commercial flight in a dog carrier?

Guess which one suffered more.....

/I bet the dog did love riding on the car

Yeah, leaving out the strapped to the roof part and the sheer terror that caused diarrhea, after which Romney calmly hosed him down and left him up there.

2012-04-17 08:22:30 AM
And to think, she could be our first woman president....Scary.

GAT_00: Yeah, leaving out the strapped to the roof part and the sheer terror that caused diarrhea, after which Romney calmly hosed him down and left him up there.

Would you rather they didn't secure the carrier to the roof? You sick bastard.

Nothing wrong with hosing him off either. It's a dog, not an infant.

And there's no basis to believe that riding in the carrier caused its diarrhea, it's just more fun for you to spin it that way.

This one ain't working. Find something else.

Mom, the dog crapped itself with fear in 60 mph wind.

You're apparently as nuts as your husband. I hear being so wealthy and cut off from the rest of humanity can cause that. Are there a lot of germs at your house, or have you hired enough people to make it clean?

Oh well if you say so. I like how strongly you're defending animal cruelty. I really hope you don't have pets, because I'm sure those animals are miserable with you.

Not strapped to the roof.

Anyway, this is a non-issue. There was no way Romney had cruel intentions.

That would mean he has emotions.

How is it cruel?

James!: I think that's pretty funny.

Awesome.

She did give a perfectly logical explanation for its stomach issues. Unless you're laughing at how ridiculous it is that we're even discussing it, in which case I agree.

I really can't believe that this is the best you guys can come up with. With Michelle being ashamed of her country until her husband became president, you're going to need something better.

Do you happen to have a dog? Have you ever taken it out for a ride in the car?

Its the most euphoric thing that a dog ever experiences. They especially love sticking their heads out of windows to catch the breeze.

Also, diarrhea isnt just a sudden onset due to environment. It takes something actually different in one's intestines to produce it, and that can take a while to do.

It can't be that foolish if you're taking time to argue about it. And it's going to go into the news cycle and add to the impression that the Romney's are basically inhuman.

You're arguing against the trees while the democrats are building a forrest.

Hey now, your side has had 20 years practice at bringing up inane, irrelevant, and essentially meaningless facts to score cheap political points against your opponents. Us libs are taking our first real steps here. Give us a few months practice and we'll have the process down cold.

I don't understand why you humans are so upset. The Romneys' dog has been engineered to withstand temperatures down to 10 below zero before its batteries begin to malfunction.

I just can't resist pointing out the stupidity.

And there's too much of this pointless sh*t from both sides. Clouding the real issues with emotional bullsh*t is not the path to electing the best people possible.

It was to me a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him in the kennel for two weeks.

That's why you get a stay-at-home dog sitter or a neighbor to come over regularly. Or put the dog in the farking back seat. Or put the kennel in the back and get a trailer for your other stuff. My parents owned dogs for decades and never strapped them to the roof. We'd never even heard of such a thing before Romney.

You should explain that to a cat I had when I was younger. Put her in a crate and take her someplace and she instantly freaked and had diarrhea everywhere. We took her on as few rides as possible, but we did move.

It can be caused by sheer terror.
