If Apple wanted to sell more iPhones (as if they need to), they would make Samuel L Jackson's voice an option for Siri.

Really? So those years of Jeff Goldblum doing the voice-over work in Apple ads was just an illusion? Or all the celebrities featured in the "Think Different" ads? Or how about all the celebrities featured in the "What's on your PowerBook?" ads?

I think the author of this 'article' needs to buy a clue for $1000. Or... you know... learn how to do something called "basic research" before being ridiculed as a grabastic jackhole on the internet.

Well, to be fair, the latest of those was the Jeff Goldblum ads from about 1998. Since then I think they have the iPod ads of the dancing silhouette, and the iPhone/iPad ads that just show the person's hand using it, and maybe a few others. But I don't think they do use celebrities to promote their stuff, in fact it's mostly been celebrities that name-drop their iPods to seem hip.

Knowing Apple, it's not about minor details, but about generalities.

So they'll patent a bipedal living organism and sue zoos because they have kangaroos, primates, etc...

Maybe they can focus on fixing Mac OS, instead of turning it into a dumbed down pile of crap. I won't be surprised if they take Terminal out of it to "streamline the experience". I have five 10.7 devices I support and I hate each one with a passion.

Or how about reving the Mac Pros?

Rumor I've heard as of last week via a local Mac reseller is that the Mac Pros may be going away entirely.

This may not be as unreasonable as it appears... With Thunderbolt acting as remote PCIe, you can put cards in a separate enclosure with its own power supply and fans, and not need a big main enclosure. And frankly, without the need for internal slots, there's really no other reason to have the Pro.

Aside from Launchpad, there's nothing really dumbed down in Lion. And Launchpad is highly optional. Mission Control is way better than Spaces. Gestures are also great.

Can't help you on the case, but the only way to turn off the glowing apple is to turn off the display, it is illuminated by the Backlight for the screen.

So I guess I can't help you there, either. Sorry.

Go full hipster: get some colored cellophane tape and make it look like the 1976-1998 rainbow Apple logo. Insist that you "liked Apple before they were mainstream."

Because a Macbook Air with Windows 7 is an excellent machine.

Because I want to spend a grand for a second monitor when I used to be able to do one for sub-$200.

I have Thunderbolt devices here, they make the original Firewire and USB 1 hard disks look like models of stability.

No Rosetta support, Spaces is crippled, 10.7 Server is dumbed down to a point were AppleShare IP on OS 7.6 is more powerful.

Why should Rosetta continue to function? It's a hoary old thing emulating a defunct processor architecture. Mission Control is much more useful than Spaces. I will grant that it isn't the best virtual desktop imlementation I've seen, but it's gotten better in Lion.

I did hear that Server was kinda crappy, but I haven't really investigated. I don't administer a network.

From what I've read, the Promise R6 has an audio corruption issue when used with the Apple Thunderbolt display:
Link (new window)

Also Thunderbolt doesn't work with Windows, but that's because Windows doesn't support it yet.

I'm not sure what clovis69's issues might be, but that's all I've read.

Okay, but you have to admit that MAC can't do everything PC's can do, like games.
