He'll be in Cincinnati next year, if not sooner.

This is just over-reactive tripe pushed on us by Dennis & Callahan and the other WEEI-tards. What he obviously meant is that we're not seeing those juvenile little temper tantrums out of Youk on every goddamned out he ever made. He's maturing, and why everyone - especially Youk & Pedroia - can't figure that out is beyond me.

\best part was that Cody Ross did his best Youk imitation at the end of the game
\\NONE of those balls were strikes, and whatever Vanover has for an eyeglass prescription he needs to farking double it or something.

Dusty Baker doesn't want Youkilis. He takes too many walks and would clog up the bases.

The thing is - not to give them any bait. Francona knew this. Valentine couldn't shut up if his life depended on it.

And don't for a second think this is limited to the talk radio knuckleheads. Their kind of nonsense infects everything in sports media.

The thing that strikes me about this story is that Youkalis reacted like a whiny biatch. Sure, he got a little criticism that may or may not have been fair, but rather than responding like an adult, he and his agent started whining to the press. What a prima donna

I assume you mean Valentine after the Reds shiatcan that useless fark Baker? As a Cardinals fan, all I can say is, "Yes please."

My biggest concern about the Reds is they let Baker leave after his contract is up this year and replace him with someone that can actually utilize the talent on that team.

"I really don't know what Bobby's trying to do, but that's not the way we go about our stuff around here," Pedroia said.

Dustin, the way you went about your stuff got your previous manager fired, your previous general manager taking an offer to oversee the Chicago Cubs, and directly gave you the man who's not going about stuff the way you did. That is directly on your head. If you don't think things need to change in Boston, then you need to get out.

Really? You are giving crap cause someone spelled Youkilluss wrong? If having his name spelled right every time was important Kevin Yuklus would change his name from Jukilous to something normal, like Favre.

Kevin the Youk is three steps ahead of everyone. All-star all the way. He is so beyond this and will continue in his errorless fielding and getting on base.

DUSTY BAKER: UNWELCOME IN SAN FRANCISCO. Ten years after, and he is still despised for taking out the pitcher in game 6 of the 2002 World Series who was on track to win the series. Go away Dusty Baker go away. Kevin Youk, keep up the good work, you're the greatest.

I like Bobby V and think he's received a lot of unfair criticism in prior gigs, but I'm really starting to think that his tenure in Boston will prove to be a short-lived disaster that finally ends his managerial career.

Honestly I have no idea how he still gets work. He farked up in Chicago and San Fran majorly, and is not utilizing the young talent in Cincy.

According to BBref Youk has an option on his contract for 2013, $13 million. If the Red Sox buy it out for $1 mill, then he's free to go? Would the Reds have enough cash left to pay him?

3rd base will be open in Cinci, Rolen will be 38 next year and it's a miracle if he plays 130 games anymore. Todd Frazier could play 3rd but Youk would be the preferred player I think.

As for Dusty and Bobby V, fark 'em both.

Typically I'd say no; however, since they just coughed up a shiat ton of cash to Votto and Phillips who can say? Someone in the Reds organization clearly found a money tree since they aren't getting that revenue from ticket and concession sales.

But even still, that would be about a $5 million increase over what they are presently paying Rolen. Granted Youk is 4 years younger, but still.....

In fairness to Pedroia, the conventional wisdom around Boston is that he was one of the few who actually gave a fark at the end of last season. There's plenty of blame to go around for last season's meltdown, but I don't believe Pedroia shares in it.

Good luck with all that. Welcome to "V-ball". We witnessed it first hand when he was in Texas, although that wasn't a really good Texas team to begin with. But, Bobby did make them a little better... the "2nd place" kind of better. You hit the nail on the head, though. Bobby can't keep his mouth shut. What he said was sort of a "throw-away" comment that he really didn't have to or need to make, but it ended up as a sound-byte that is kinda biting him in the ass. He's a strong personality and very opinionated guy, which I think is why they brought him in to manage.

The inmates are still clearly running the asylum there in Boston, which is the problem. Just look at Pedroia's comment, "maybe that works in Japan". Kind of a shot across the bow, if you ask me. Boston clearly has the physical talent on their roster to be a playoff team, but they don't have the right mental makeup. At least not right now & I don't believe Bobby will be able to right the ship in that regard.

The front office went from one extreme (Francona) to the other (Valentine) & if I had to place a bet, I'd have to say this isn't going to work either.

After last season and the putrid start to this season, I don't think Youkilis is beyond criticism. All of his offensive numbers are down, and he missed 40 or more games in the previous two seasons. Maybe Valentine was right; he does need to get better physically and mentally.

Pedroia was out of line for talking opening about it. He needs to concentrate on baseball, and let Valentine manage the players. If I'm Valentine, Pedroia would be scratched from the lineup tonight with a note in his locker that says "there's a new way of doing things around here".

Wow, not even May and it's starting to look like anarchy up there.

Bobby V was an annoying attention whore when he was with the Mets, and I see he's been given a bigger stage to prove what an asshole he is. Looks like Sox fans and I are going to have at least one thing in common this year!

You know, if I were a pro baseball player, I'd take less money to not have to put up with the Boston media.

This whole... thing... has the feel like it was created whole cloth by a sportswriter on a deadline-just like the "beer, chicken wings, and video games" crap last fall. The public eats it up, because the public's always looking for a scapegoat.

The past is the past. You really want a fan to dwell in the past during the current season because you believe in misery? As it stands this season the Sox can make a run but if Bobby V is going to be the spark that begins an implosion this year then he can be fired at the end of the season for all I care.
