haven't listened to enough to decide if I like the album or not, but Norah Jones' voice is like strawberry ice cream on a hot summer's day.

Eh, I'd rather listen to the new Sleigh Bells album. It's much better, in my opinion.

I'm kidding. I like her. She's the best Fiona Apple impersonator so far.

/Not as good as the real thing, but still damned good.

I've listened to it from start to end a couple of times now and one word comes to mind - "sultry". Very different from her other albums but it still has a smoldering sexy vibe to it. My 40-something libedo finds that much more intriguing in a Steve Nicks kind of way than the Britney-Rihanna-Gaga "heres-my-bizness-come-and-get-it" way.

I feel like she has some hints of influence from her work with Danger Mouse on Rome, which is a good thing.

Old enough to know better: See that RIAA? Thats how it should work.

An artist forced to give her work away for free as it would only be stolen, oh, I'm sorry, I meant "have it's copyright infringed". Yeah, great business model. Next time I'll refuse to pay your Mom for the beej, see how she likes it.

Subby here - No sarcasm, I love me some Norah.

I really liked the second track - Sort of reminiscent of Edie Brickell or even early Deborah Harry.

Huh. It's not too often you get someone to call themselves out in their own slashy comment...

...And apparently not bothering to even read the paragraph that has been in my profile for ages that explains that I'm basically jerking people off when I do that sort of thing.

However, I seem to be good at it, because people hang onto that stuff even in threads that have nothing to do with previous statements. Does it really sting that much that you're still whining about it days later, or are you just bored and fixated on me because you're developing a crush?

...Although I wasn't kidding about the sushi. It's nasty. I'll have roast beef, thanks.

Sounds more like a matter of you being such an absolute asshole that it was memorable.

I just like to tease. And it's OK to hate things. I think it defines you just as well as the things you like. My friends think I'm strange for some of the things I don't like:

Raw celery
Corn mixed with other food (I love corn by itself, but I don't want it in my salsa, soup, mac & cheese, etc)
Hardwood floors
Wind chimes

Oh, and as for the flowers I sent: check with your mom. She probably took them thinking they were for her.

I really like Norah a lot. I think she's a very talented gal, and I would still listen to her if she looked like a yeti. But this album's just not doing it for me. She does the material to a "T", I just prefer he earlier jazz-country influenced style.
