Doubtless Mr. Boehner will be quietly asking for her resignation.

Gee, I am so shocked by this revelation.

She is the most reprehensible and ignorant member of congress

If we get outraged at every knee-jerk reaction a republican makes to a thought-out Obama policy which benefits people over corporations, we won't have time to eat or sleep.

Well, she's an honest whore.

Hypocrisy is starting to seem normal.

By the way, she also just denigrated anyone today who has student loan debt as being not worth her sympathy.

Joe Barton (wind is a finite resource/harnessing wind energy will slow winds down), Louie (terror babies) Gohmert, Peter King (terrorist supporter), John Shimkus (God will not allow global warming)

Quite a field of contenders.

Specifically, a new federal definition of what constitutes a legitimate academic "credit hour" and a new requirement that all online providers of post-secondary education be accredited in each and every state in which they do business.

Foxx's bill repealed both measures. According to Foxx, the new federal regulations threatened "innovation" in the educational sector.

Just like laws against pouring pollutants directly into rivers threatens "innovation" in the industrial sector.

Around 70-80 percent of for-profit revenues are generated by federal student loans.

The biggest player in the for-profit sector, the University of Phoenix, graduated only 9 percent of its B.A. candidates within six years.

Among the top 20 financial contributors to Foxx in the 2011-2012 cycle are the Association of Private Sector Colleges/Universities, the Apollo Group (owner of the University of Phoenix), and Corinthian Colleges. Since federal student loans comprise the vast majority of the revenues of those for-profit schools, it follows that their campaign contributions to Foxx are also made possible by U.S. taxpayers.

That's farked up.

Party Boy: too mad to photoshop money into the pic.

it is rather aggravating, isn't it? And they're so open about the greed and corruption. even when caught, the attitude is 'hey, f*ck you buddy i'm entitled'. But if you DARE stand up to government corruption, then you can expect a beat down for it.

I wonder how much longer this will last? economically speaking, we're reaching a boiling point. respect for congress and the court system is dropping into the bucket. it's getting so bad that the corruption is starting to impact people in their daily lives. How much longer will regular people just sit there and take it?

Kinda chuckled at Rep. Joe Courtney's statements today on the House floor:

"Incredibly, the chair of the Subcommittee for Higher Education spoke last week in North Carolina and said, 'I have very little tolerance for people who tell me they graduate with $200,000 in debt or even $80,000 of debt.' Really?"

"It is a sad statement when today's Republican party turns its back on a program that helps millions of Americans fulfill their dreams, and that is named after a Republican Senator, Robert Stafford of Vermont."

Got my MBA from there. Afterwards, as a joke, I took on the CFP and passed. 10 hour exam with a 50% or so pass rate.

Needless to say, most of the places I apply to are confused.

Before it got too chilly last fall, the mopes at Occutard Chicago "occupied" the attention of about four cops, unless it was "lets all block traffic" day, when more cops were necessary to prevent the dipshiats from getting killed by moving vehicles.

But they are making a totes difference!

This would be the same woman who said Obama's Administration is more dangerous to America than Osama Bin Laden?

The woman who voted against Katrina Relief?

The woman who told Matthew Sheppard's mother to her face that her son's murder had nothing to do with a hate crime, it was just "unfortunate".

Maybe -- and call me crazy here -- but maybe, just maybe, the free market is not the answer to every problem faced by society.

I mean, I know, I know: RON PAUL. But let's just float the idea. Maybe the FREE MARKET is actually in some cases, rare though they may be, a bad thing. A really bad thing. It makes things worse.

And the answer for these problems, the best answer, anyway, is a democratically elected government with regulatory powers.

CRAZY, I know.
