My daughters recently discovered Air Buddies through a friend whose parents are obviously low class. Now it's all they want to see. Christ, that's some bad entertainment, no matter how old you are.

When I saw Air Bud, I figured Benji would get honorable mention. That was... a pretty piss poor list.

Then the list fails as they clearly belong-along with Saw,Wish master and Bridget Jones' Diary.

I assume they mean series that keep going even though they're terrible. Though if James Bond had ended with Brosnan, it might be on the list.

There were seven Police Academy movies?

Why does that number seem low to me.

Because you could never get enough Guttenberg.

My daughter went through a phase of watching nothing but "The Land Before Time" videos. What was unusual about that series is that the tenth one is actually a pretty good movie.

I think it's somewhat funny that the original Air Bud dog died after the first or 2nd film, yet the keep churning them out.

as an aside, is the list combining all the Air Bud and Air Buddies entries? 11 seems awfully low if they are...

Friday the 13th
Halloween
Nightmare on Elm St

These people still care about.

On a similar note from the "no good deed goes unpunished" department.

My daughter is obsessed with the most recent Muppets movie. That makes me happy. But they put Christmas Buddies and Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 previews on the disc and she insists on watching them every. single. farking. time...because "they look like they will be good movies."

Surprised Chucky/Child's Play didn't make the list.

Though I do give them respect for trying something different in the last couple films. Most franchises feel like the scripts were written by Xerox.

I didn't see this 7-movie franchise on there.

FTFA: The Land Before Time (13 Films)

Holy hell, 13? I remember the first one being pretty good for a kids' flick. I knew there was a second one, too. But 13?

"I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

That quote always cracks me up.

How was American Pie not written by a chick? There is more "lets talk about our feelings" moments in that movie than on an Oprah marathon.

/Yes, that's right, American Pie was too much of a chick-flick for me.

What?

Shiatty kids' movie franchises tend to get drawn out ad infinitum because kids will love anything and parents will buy a $9 straight to DVD release for a few hours of quiet?

Say it ain't so...

I'm surprised the Saw movies weren't on the list. Horror movies seem to be right up there with the children's franchises for insane amounts of sequels.

2012-04-16 04:23:05 PM
Surprised that Pokemon's not on the list. First two films did good, third and fourth okay, and then straight to DVD hell.
