Lando Lincoln: SlothB77: The Dem strategy for winning in November is to attack Ann Romney?

This is the equivalent of a soccer player flopping on the ground, grabbing their ankle and writhing in pain, when nobody even touched them.

And then said soccer player's fans calling for a red card.

You're thinking of a temple, which not even lower levels of Mormons can go into. Non-believers can go into a regular church/meeting house. I had a Mormon roommate for years, and went to church with her a few times a year to appease her mom. When my roommate got married, I was in the wedding even though it was in a Mormon church, while when her sister got married my roommate couldn't attend because it was in a temple.

The idea of a Temple that only high level Mormons can go into seems more than a little culty to me.

Wow, that is nearly the perfect analogy.

And then said soccer player's fans calling for a red card.

Okay, now it's perfect.

Well played, both of you.

Ya think? It's creepy as hell. I couldn't attend my bro's actual wedding because it took place in a temple, but they did hold an 'extra' one later for the benefit of our heathen side of the family.

But nothing is creepier than going to a Mormon baby shower. Because at least 50% of the chicks there are pregnant and under 21 besides the one actually being showered.

Bristol Palin does NOT understand the experience of the typical teenage single mother. Ann Romney does NOT understand the experience of the typical working woman.

monoski: She really did get a good gift there and then really seems to have missed the point. She goes right to harking on being a mom is a full-time job. Her friggin kids are grown and she still has no paid job. In my eyes she should have focused on the non-paid work she does for multiple charities and her other endeavors.

I have an in-law who tries to tell everyone she is too busy being a mom to have a job. Her girls are in high-school and she has a housekeeper who does just about everything.

I have to say that being a mom is actually a full-time job. It's just that it's a very unique job, and not really comparable to any other job, unless you for some reason have a job where you're forced to corral hyperactive squirrels on acid every day and most of the night, in which case I feel nothing but sympathy.

/Known many full-time moms

Sorry Anna unless you married Mitt for money and a benefit package alone and not for love and affection, it's not a job or work but pleasures many of us would gladly endure just to endure them. You will have to make sacrifices but that does not make it a toil worthy of sympathy (How bad for you to be married with children it must suck not partying all night like singles).

The fact Anna wants to see it as a job tells me more about their marriage then anything else.

My wife tried to be a stay at home mother, but she was bored silly after 2 years of it and had to get back into a career because she ran out of things to do by 10 am and just had to make things up to keep her occupied. Sorry, it is most definitely NOT a full time job. Rewarding? Sure. Important? Absolutely. Full time? Sorry, no.

There was a time when it was the equivalent of a full time job, back where there was the artform of home economics. Back when you had to hand wash and scrub all your clothes rather than stick them in the washer and/or drop them off at the dry cleaner. Or back when you had to stitch up and repair worn out clothes rather than throwing them away and driving off to Old Navy to buy some cheap replacements made with Chinese sweatshop labor. Back when you had to wash every pot and dish by hand rather than giving them and quick rinse and sticking them in the electric dishwasher. Back when you had to make every single item of every meal from scratch, rather than buying pre-frozen, processed food and/or ordering in. Now a days when you buy a pre made frozen lasagna and throw it in the oven, dump a bag of pre-washed/pre-cut salad in a bag in a bowl and dump some processed salad dressing on top of it that constitutes "home made", because at least it was actually placed in your oven and you didn't order pizza.

Don't you find it "odd" that in 1950 the norm was to have a single income family, whereas in 2012 that's not possible for so many? Liberalism is about families no longer having the CHOICE to be a single income family.

you do realize that the person who said that women should have to find jobs to know the "dignity of working" was none other than Mitt Romney, right?

he was even willing to shell out taxpayer money to put their kids in daycare, just to make sure they could feel good about themselves. some fiscal conservative.

Judging by the underwhelming response here and elsewhere, it seems like the contrived "War on Moms" is a non-starter, which is good because it's an utterly moronic foil for the very real war on women in which the GOP is currently engaged.

Lionel Mandrake: Mitt Romney, speaking after his wife, also said that the media's nonstop coverage of Rosen's criticism, along with the ensuing "war on moms," was a "gift" in the early stages of his general election push.

So, there's no war on women (besides multiple laws rolling back their rights), but one stupid statement by a largely unknown pundit makes a "war on moms"

OOOOOOOOOOkay

And the sad part for me is, I didn't even see Rosen's comments as an attack on her as a mom or stay at home wife. I saw it as a comment on Ann Romney being a person of wealth has never had to work in the same way as someone living paycheck to paycheck would have to.
