How many years there bucko, are you saying Laura Bush wasn't dignified?
If you just mean Michele why don't you say it?

In your mind who was the last dignified First Lady, Barbara Bush and "I don't waste my beautiful mind" worrying about the people who are going to die in my son's war. The Barbara Bush who said Katrina would be a good thing for those people.

ahh yes the "controversy" that the media catapulted where she somehow gets sympathy from women voters because a liberal pundit "attacked" her. The liberal media never once tried to catapult that same bullshiat whenever conservative pundits have viciously gone after Obama's wife and kids.

They might as well take a page from Trump and brag about how rich they are. Any attempt to appear like everyday people is just a losing strategy.

mrshowrules: Obama was smart to instantly distance himself from this argument and the Romney's are farking stupid to cling to it. Here a clue, just because he doesn't what it, doesn't mean you should.

Any debate how the Romneys are like everyday people is a losing issue for the Romneys. If they think the someone have found foot-in-the-door, they are dangerously mistaken.

Ironically, if the Romneys knew how out of touch they were, they would be more in touch with the everyday person. They fact that they don't know this just goes to show you how bad it is. Ann Romney was recently quoted as saying "some women choose to have a career". She doesn't realize that women "choose" to get a job so they can "choose" to eat and feed their children.

Pretty much.

Hershey Highway Patrol: sweetmelissa31: choices

Oh it'll be fun to see if that quote shows up in a campaign ad sometime. Mitt's going to have to do some real dancin to get around that when someone points it out to him.

Romney is going to have to tapdance faster than Savion Glover on acid with a cattle prod up his ass.

2012-04-16 01:48:42 PM

Lionel Mandrake: Mitt Romney, speaking after his wife, also said that the media's nonstop coverage of Rosen's criticism, along with the ensuing "war on moms," was a "gift" in the early stages of his general election push.

So, there's no war on women (besides multiple laws rolling back their rights), but one stupid statement by a largely unknown pundit makes a "war on moms"

OOOOOOOOOOkay

Who can seriously claim there's a "liberal media bias" when the media obsesses over some pundit's off comment, but gives Mitt Romney a free ride for saying stay-at-home moms don't work?

2012-04-16 01:48:49 PM

For people who sure don't seem to like choice, Republicans sure do seem to think most everything is a choice. People choose to be poor, choose to be gay, etc.

So Ann Romney is basically saying, "Oh, you chose to have to work in order to feed your kids, how quaint. I chose to be rich and be a stay at home mom, which everyone agrees is the hardest job. I guess we can't all take the easy way out like you. Just look at us, we are so alike, we just made a different choice!"

/although I guess Ann did get to decide to be rich when she married Mitt.

No shiat. Right now Obama is still in troll mode with the birthday party for Romneycare but when its time to roll up the sleeves and start playing hardball it's going to get pretty real. He is going let pundits and other spokespeople hammer Romney on how Romneycare pays for abortions and Obamacare doesn't. He doesn't need to wade into that himself.

Now on how Romney is Schrodinger's Candidate, that should be fun to watch. I expect a lot of "Which is it Mitt?" retorts from Obama during the debate.

My Mormon friend in the mid-90's told me his church taught that blacks are the "cursed children of Cain." Whatever the Mormon church's official position, rank and file churches are still teaching old doctrine.

ManateeGag: WTF Indeed: To be fair, she was hoping for birthday sex but her husband won't stick to one position in order to finish the job.

Isn't this the one time where Romney's affinity for new positions works to his advantage?

Nah, too much flip-flop. His approval rating would be better if, instead of finding a new position, he showed some firmness, really found his spot and hammered his point home.

Grand_Moff_Joseph: As crummy as Ann's comments were, Mitt's are even scarier:

"The Department of Education: I will either consolidate with another agency, or perhaps make it a heck of a lot smaller. I'm not going to get rid of it entirely," Romney said, explaining that part of his reasoning behind preserving the agency was to maintain a federal role in pushing back against teachers' unions."

When ANY President (or candidate) talks about consolidation, yes, be scared.

Yeah, my bro converted to Mormonism years ago and invited the family to his church. I came thinking it'd just be a service, but no... it was the "pre-service" where they separate men and women into classes.

They maybe mentioned Jesus twice, but damn if they didn't consistently "praise Joseph Smith." And when you're that dedicated to a prophet, and that prophet taught for decades that the beloved golden plates said blacks are inferiors, well...

It doesn't really go away so easily.

All the choices?

I thought romney's religion required her to be a stay at home mom.
Choice? she chose to stay at home and be a mother because 100% of any possible need and want was met by her millionaire husband. there was no need to work.

most mothers that I know would KILL to stay at home with their babies. even the crazy driven professionals have the pull of the maternal instinct ...

choice? LOL
