Frozen_Puck: San Jose: setting their fans up for more disappoint, cause the last decade of playoff runs haven't been enough, heh.

jaylectricity: I didn't watch the entire game, does either team have a timeout? I think it would be funny to call one right before the faceoff.

Not that it matters now, but no, both were already used

Till tomorrow!

Damn, that building cleared out FAST! Or did everyone leave when it was 4-1? Sounds more likely...

There's no (Mike) Shanahaning in the NHL. You have to call the timeout promptly during the stoppage.

Silvara: Ahhh...got it. I wondered why any student in their right mind would schedule something for that early.

It's actually not as bad as when I was a high school student. Then I had to be out of the house around 6:15, 6:30 to catch the school bus. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

It's San Jose. You may draw your own conclusion from there.

I guess that means it's time to attempt to sleep. I'll try and duck in pregame if the thread is green before class and check in for Chicago/Phoenix.

In case I don't get to say it in time tomorrow...

I'll go with those. Only reason I want the Panthers to win is to hear more of Randy Moller. If we have to have hockey in Florida, at least we get Moller out of it.

I see teams do it all the time. You call the timeout when you feel your team needs it, but only during a stoppage and not after a face-off infraction. Rule 87.

I don't see how that doesn't happen at this point...and the idea scares the shiat out of me. Most dangerous team in the West in my opinion. In the last couple of days of the regular season had the Blues won the last two games they'd have clinched first overall and I kept thinking "Throw the final game if it means facing the Kings."

I'll find some comfort in the fact the Kings advancing will come at the expense of the Canucks. Who can't be happy about that?

The province of British Columbia, presumably. With the possible exception of the Vancouver police.

It makes me sad! Also, I'd like to bet anyone who would be interested a month's worth of TF that if the Canucks are eliminated in the first round there will be no riot.

Sucker bet. Even if the last game of the series actually takes place in Vancouver, even if the Vancouver police and/or local government haven't come up with new and better methods of crowd control in the past year, the said crowd haven't had eight weeks to build up expectations and resentment and disgust.

Possibility of no Backstrom for Game 4? Excellent... Cheap shot on Peverley from a sore loser.

Who's crying now, Alzner?

wow.

what the hell is with the heat, seriously?

between the drinking and the stuffiness last night sleep was not nice.

thankfully we have the "other room and the other couch". glad i fought that battle with the missus to keep that ugly couch. it's awesome for "i'm drunk and it's muggy i need to pass out" passing out.

then you wake up with 3 cats staring at you because it's in the other bedroom and that's basically their room.

happy hockey tuesday!

Caps put up a good game though; though TBH Caps fans in the arena annoy me. DC fans in general in any venue it seems. They seem very "i cheer if someone tells me to"

I was at the game last night, first Caps game. The caps fans know *nothing* about hockey. They were screaming bloody murder about Boston handpasses... in the Boston defensive zone. Yelling about Delay of Game penalties at neutral ice. And worst, they were always yelling "SHOOT SHOOT" whenever the defenseman had a clear, unobstructed lane to the goaltender... and the goaltender was perfectly squared with the shooter.

I haven't been to an NHL game in a while, so maybe it was just optimistic homerism. but the fans weren't even like that the last Connecticut Whale game I was at.

Like, learn some hockey, you farks.

glad you saw that too. and fark that horn guy.

seriously i want to punch him. it's fun at the beginning, but he does it the whole damn game.

Plus, Caps fans want anything that touches Ovie to be penalized. Like ANYTHING. someone taps his shoulder on a fair skate and they cry and scream. it's like "hey, he went in head first toward 3 defenders... they're going to check him and tell him to GTFO"

still. they're playing well for a team that should have been Buffalo this year.

Jack Edwards made mention to something and at the time I thought nothing of it. He said, "Capitals fans responding to the cues to make some noise."

If Neal is on the ice in Game 4 I fear for him. And I don't condone game-delayed attacks in any way... just it's like playing with sharks...

The way this series has gone, I'd fully expect Philly to bring someone up just to go after Neal if he's in the game. The fans will be wanting blood, and the team seems willing to oblige.

If Neal isn't suspended, he better spend the game in the dressing room. Because if this game gets lopsided in either direction he will be toast.

Latest I heard is he waived his in-person meeting and will meet via a teleconference at 5pm instead. The league can hit him with a 6 or more game ban.

Nothing on Neal yet, as far as I know his meetings went as planned this morning.

There is speculation since they split Neal'shiats into two separate meetings and both players seem to be ok that he won't be suspended much like Weber wasn't. If they don't take into account that he tried to take out the leading scorer and the guy shutting down Malkin in one shift, someone needs to smack Shanahan in the head a couple of times...
