Yep. What else would you expect from these two?

Piizzadude: Nah, Asham punched him in the back of the head, and Schenn didn't really get hurt. $2500 fine.

He hit him in the throat THEN hit him in the back of the head on the way down.....kinda different

Weber hit Zetterberg's head into the glass TWICE with so much force that he knocked Zetterberg dizzy momentarily and cracked his helmet. Zetterberg wasn't hurt. $2500 fine.

Schenn came back on the ice in the same period and finished the game. $2500 fine.

I don't agree with either one -- maybe because I'm a Wings fan -- but that's how things are going this playoff season.

Pittsburgh doesn't deserve to win this series. Lots of biatch moves today...

When Matt f*cking Cooke is the classiest guy on your bench.....
Sid was an absolute douchebag today. Cut that shiat out and play hockey; you're a better goddamn hockey player than that. Disappointing.

Don't really have a preference for NJ/FL. Go good hockey.

THIS!

Probably not going to be up for LA/VAN, but Would like to see LA put Vancouver one game away from elimination.

I hope that is not the case. Just hope the Canucks play better hockey.

Disgraceful display from the Penguins today... They have no right to biatch about head shot again.

I concur.

I realize I am in the minority of hockey fans that are tired of this shiat. What the f*ck is it 1978 again? Did the f*cking NHL hire Vince McMahon as a consultant? Just waiting for a folding chair to come out and I swaer I'll never watch another f*cking game.

Sorry, ranting. Carry on with your drinking and hockey? viewing.

NO way this game even comes close to matching the level created by the phi/pit game.

(* read this in a Norm McDonald voice*) I think there's a very very large difference here in regards to not respecting your fellow players general safety when you cross check someone IN THE THROAT.

Piizzadude: iamdonovan: Piizzadude: IMDWalrus: I'm starting to get really farking disgusted with all of the dirty play and cheap shots we've seen so far in the postseason. This is getting out of control.

I agree, that is why I am going to say that Shanny comes down kinda hard on this last game, to send a message. Somehow I can see more than one 1 game suspension come out of this....maybe 2 pit players and one Flyer...that hit on Schenn is the extra PIT player.

Nah, Asham punched him in the back of the head, and Schenn didn't really get hurt. $2500 fine.

Then again, Asham is not the star of his team, so he might get a bit heavier punishment.

/I was mostly being sarcastic with that comment. The way that things are going, though, nothing would surprise me any more.

You would think that. But the way the NHL has been cracking down on head hits, you would also think they would be pretty strict when it comes to smashing a guy's head into the glass repeatedly.

iamdonovan: Then again, Asham is not the star of his team, so he might get a bit heavier punishment.

And then the problem is how to decipher the Internet sarcasm vs. actual statement. I mean, when the head of NHL discipline is trolling the fans, nothing makes sense!

Ok....back...I have no idea who to root for in this one. I would root for the Devils because of Brodeur, but...ugh. I've been to games there. It's made me really dislike them cuz their fans are mostly douchebags. So, Florida it is I guess. They're certainly the underdog.

There was a lot of noise earlier about using this game as the official dinner break/nap before everyone who isn't a fan of either team pulls for the Kings. FOR SHAME!

Time for some Sidney Crosby limericks...I'll go first:

When starting a fight
He'd look to his right
And wait for a third man to hit

Hardcore fans don't use any game as a break.

No dog in this fight, ready to see the action though!

Oh, I know... I just don't remember who for and so I don't remember if he's made any playoff appearances in recent years. I know he hasn't been with the Habs for a number of years, just didn't follow him when he left town really.

Isn't that kind of security standard everywhere now? I don't think Philly or NJ had detectors last I was at either (those are the 2 closet to me), but I know they both had security that scanned you with a handheld detector as you went in...

I'll admit, had to look him up quick. Damn, didn't realize he'd been on THAT many teams since the Habs. Theodore sure gets around a lot. And look at who he's been with, I can understand why he's winning in 7.

man, i hate the devils, started in 1985 when i was kicked in the ribs during an Oiler game there.
then 1995- 200? with the trap that ruined hockey for ever, and their idiotic fans at the meadowlands that were under-knowledged about the sport so bad i refused to go to a game unless the Oiler or Habs played there.
i paased on a lot of free tickets and group events via bars.
but tonite i will let by gones be by gones and try to enjoy a 95º degree in february city play a team from newark.

Wound up not going to the concert, headed home and caught up on PIT/PHI. What a lulz-worthy clusterfark of a game. This one's getting saved on my DVR.

And the Panthers score quickly!
