We never quite settled on what's what, and there are a few others I haven't uploaded, but you should be able to figure out yellow flag cat, "Off course" cat was already posted, penalty cat, podium cat etc.

We never quite settled on what's what, and there are a few others I haven't uploaded, but you should be able to figure out yellow flag cat, "Off course" cat was already posted, penalty cat, podium cat etc.

28 laps or so if you're looking to make it a 2 stopper. Folks running full fuel mixture will have to do 3, so we'll probably see them pit in the lower 20s.

It really sucks Simona's got Lotus this year, she'll never get to show any skills. Same for Legge, though she never really went anywhere after Champcar.

And am I the only one that thinks the Fountain Turn is the most beautiful in motorsports? Love Long Beach GP for lots of reasons, but that's a big one nowadays.

Are there this season? I know KV carried the Lotus standard last year, but I haven't seen any Lotus branding on a non-Lotus-powered car this year.

Also, a little surprised Briscoe and Power haven't made any more progress than the free position from Newgarden.

I thought the same thing, when they showed the overhead view. That is really lovely. Not your usual track landscaping.

What? I thought I read something above about the Lotus engine development program. Why can't they go to be being the uber-cheap series they were supposed to be when they split so it would make it less confusing for all of us?

Well there's Lotus Cars, which is owned by Proton.

Then there was Team Lotus, which was owned by Tony Fernandes (a Malaysian, unsure if he's part of Proton or not). They were in F1 until this year when they became Caterham.

But in the meantime, Team Renault started using Lotus branding last year, until this year when THEY became Team Lotus. So in F1 Lotus became Caterham, while Renault became Lotus.

And now there are Lotus engines in IndyCar, which apparently have nothing to do with any of the three previously mentioned Lotus. And last year there were cars that LOOKED like Lotuses except were Hondas (like everything else). And the Lotuses this year seem to look nothing like a Lotus, so if you're looking for those like you were last year, you're out of luck.

Okay, so in F1 there is the team that was Lotus, the Renault that is now Lotus. And of course none of this is old Lotus. Now, Group Lotus was involved in a lawsuit involving Lotus.

Meanwhile, back in the US, Lotus sponsored the Honda powered KV racing last year, and somehow seemed involved in the team, but they run Chevys, and apparently always planned to. So now there's a different team Lotus, and Lotus started making engines.

Also, hamsters.
