Awesome, thanks subby! Now I know I don't need to see them next weekend.

Well done subby! I haven't been to Slicing up Eyeballs in far too long apparently. I just discovered their mixed tape section...I have a lot of catching up to do.

Yeah, their studio stuff is pretty solid. This, not so much.

I turned it off after I saw the "Make some noise! I can't hear you." Can anyone tell me if Pulp then asked people to wave their hands in the air like they just don't care? I need this. Don't ask why. It's for a project.

Eh, I'm going Tuesday in SF. I'm guessing (hoping) they will sound light years better at the Warfield.

Saw them 3 times about 10 years ago. Would have been 4 but I contracted flu. Including this, which is awesome:

Best live act I've seen - and I saw Prince in the days when he used to perform Head. Don't sound too tight at Coachella, though.

The park is not theirs. Tommy Lee Jones should shoot them and wrap their bodies in barbed wire.

The Buzzcocks just played a really great set.

Someone singing Common People in sign language along with the band? I envy the deaf people at that show... at least they couldn't hear how awful it sounded, only how bad the lyrics are.

I want to start a band named Plup, so people who aren't paying attention or who are dyslexic will go to the shows.

It was like watching a Pulp tribute band that wasn't trying very hard.

Tends to happen a lot, if a band doesn't do a lot of live shows. Probably why those old jazz guys are so damn good, years and years of playing three sets a night, every night. Now, 5 shows a week is just so gosh darn hard, even with each band member having their own tour bus, and staying in 5 star hotels every night.

fark it, I'll save my money and go see Mike Watt.

Rrrr, it may be "the worlds largest music festival" but why the fark does summerfest always have to be so lame compared to coahcella/lollapalooza/glastonbury etc.

/oh right, who wants to come play for a bunch of middle aged drunk assholes in milwaukee...

So, like OTL, but in Milwaukee, and without baseball bats?

Meanwhile, Slash, Gilby, Duff, Steven, and Myles are dwarfing these amateurs tonight.

For anyone interested, there will be a live broadcast of almost every band playing

sure, you've missed half the acts by now, but they're running the exact same festival next weekend

*goes to coachella site to see if I've heard of any of these bands...*

Let's see...

Radiohead... that's the guy who looks like Joel Hodgson, right?

Atari Teenage Riot... don't know any of their stuff, but haven't those guys been around since like the 80s?

Madness... ok, that's pretty cool.

Abe Vigoda... still alive and appealing to the hipster crowd, I see.

I didn't know Pulp was still together.

"Was" still together? "Were" still together? Is a band singular or plural?

Singular name. Like Oasis or Nirvana. More than one member though, so it all boils down to context.

I'm getting so psyched for next weekend (when I go) that Im literally waking up at weird hours again like I'm 6 again and its Christmas. I've never been, and been waiting a long-long time.

Has anyone ever gone both weekends or had any feedback from anyone who has? What I'm wondering essentially, is if I need to stay away from video so as not to ruin any surprises. Pulp is one of the acts my fiance and I are really stoked to see.

This is actually the first year they're attempting the two-weekend thing. It's hard to say how many bands will play the exact same setlist until afterwards.

Either way, the experience is going to be so completely different in person, though I tuned out after a couple songs of Radiohead's to save it for real life

Saw some of the Coachella feed this weekend, and liked a lot of what I saw. Especially the sets by We Were Promised Jetpacks and tUnE yArDs.
