Condescending douchebag.

Not sure how much of this is sexist and how much is just plain dickishness.

HOWEVER, I have no idea wtf those two are talking about, but it sounds as though she's defending an article re: spending (200K?) and he's saying it's inaccurate because that spending was offset by a 2mil saved elsewhere? Is that true?

Because I can say that if a conservative whined that Obama spent 200k on a program, but saved 2mil in other areas related to said program, netting a 1.8 mil in savings, I'd certainly defend Obama's position and chalk up the conservatives argument to "republican nonsense".

BUT I may not be hearing the whole thing correctly. I realize it's related to ALEC, but can't tell if the savings he mentions are too.

Typed all that out, then read about Alec before posting "just in case". I change my post to now read:

F*ck that, ALEC sucks and he sucks.

Wow, now that is ONE gender-baiting headline if I've ever seen one.

granted, her body language was saying 'I want to ask a question and you aren't gonna get away'....but that guy was looking down on her soon as she said who she was. there's a half dozen better ways to handle an aggressive constituent who's looking for sound bites and I get it if Howell didn't want to deal with that sort of thing right then...but geez dude. you really shouldn't go around radiating contempt in front of a camera.

Another ALEC sucker. He should visit Georgia. Then, he and our ALEC suckers could get together and dance the Charlie Foxtrot together.

I'm not sure what this has to do with her being a woman. He's a dickhole enough that you don't need to generate false outrage. Let the conservatives do that.

From another article with more info:

ALEC has ghostwritten legislation across the nation, including in Virginia.

That's kind of scary right there. Our bills/laws are being written by lobbyists? Well it was assumed for years but I don't think it's ever been stated as fact before.

ALEC touts itself as a pro-business, free-market organization, and its members include legislators and private companies. Corporate members pay fees, which give them a say on legislative issues.

The f*ck? What about citizens?
"Sorry, you didn't pay a fee. You don't have any say. Now go away".

it seems that Howell doesn't know the basics of public speaking. he could have handled that better. instead he opted to be f*cking stupid.

"Hey, you said we spent $200,000 to send people to a conference, and that's inaccurate."
"Did you not spend $200,000 sending people to a conference?"
"No, we did spend $200,000, but we also spent $2 million sending people somewhere else."

Truly, the working of the mind of a genius.

I'm not a violent person but if someone said that to me, they might have punched a ticket to "Getting Punched in the Mouthville". Seriously, she asked him an honest question and he responded with nothing but condescending dickery because answering the question would have made him look bad. What a maroon

You think that elected officials should be condescending to their constituents? You think how this guy treated the woman is ok? The fact that it was a woman is gender baiting by subby because it has nothing to do with this story but the way he treated a voting citizen IS the story here.

"What is inaccurate about saying the government spent $230k on ALEC trips?"
"Well, you didn't also say that different money was spent on different trips."
"How does that make the $230k number inaccurate?"
"IT IS OBVIOUSLY THAT YOU ARE A FOGGOT"
