It's like they're reducing the average mental age of their block.

Most political/professional communications for the public aim for about the 8th grade in reading comprehension. Well, up until recent times.

The GOP's communications and talking points are like 4th grade arguments, down to "I know you are, but what am I?" and "I'm rubber you're glue," and the classic, "Whatever you say, I'm gonna say the opposite."

I live about three miles from him, just across the river on the Wisconsin side. but I work in his district. I work at a very large company and he is like a god to most of the people in the area. He is heavily supported by the Tea Party (that does explain a lot) and used to work at he only hospital in the area. Dickinson County Hospital, DCH or as it is known around here,

Don't
Come
Here

or

Die when
Coming

He was a big dog at the hospital, I don't believe Chief of Staff but along those lines, it looks like he wants to run the country like he helped run the Hospital.

Being a mom is a job. Your argument is invalid.

Being a mother can't be a job because it discriminates against males. If the Republicans want to make this a real issue, they'll be opening up a civil rights can of worms. Not only are males barred from the occupation, but how many housewives receive W-2s?

Just how stupid do Republicans think their constituents are?

We'll get a pretty good metric of that when we see how many vote for these mendacious donkeydix.

impaler: sweetmelissa31: GAT_00: Geography, specifically GIS, or GIScience as we're apparently calling it these days. Actually, that's not really true either, self-organizing maps, which is the newest thing I'm looking at as a tool for what I want to do, isn't technically GIS.

We have used GIS in my research to model air pollution. That's all I'll say about that for now.

And I'm currently building spatial-temporal statistical analysis tools for GIS environments.

Anyone else have a GIS CSB?

Cool. I've been developing arcgis extensions for about 11 years. GIS Undergrad.

Let me know if you need some help with arcobjects

But truthfully, they won that way in 2004, don't underestimate the laziness of voters.

Not really. They 'won' in 04 due to very successful voter suppression and fraud in Ohio. The other side should try this. It works great!

Doc Lee Mr. 9/11. Southern strategy. These things just didn't happen, did they, socialist?

nope.

A. The "Southern Strategy" was invented by liberals in 1968 to attack Nixon annd the GOP. (War on women comes to mind)

B. Many leaders in the South had indeed resisted de-segregation in the 1960s, some going so far as to suggest "massive resistance" to court-ordered equal accommodations for black and white Southerners.

C. Every one of those segregationsts was a Democrat. George Wallace, Bull Connor, Lester Maddox. Democrats every one.

D. Grover Cleveland, Woodrow Wilson, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, were elected by appealing to a united South. Yet no one called any of these Democratic presidents racists because they appealed to Southern voters. No one calls them racist now.

E. Yelling racist and bigot and charging cowardice are the only stratagem left to liberals who cannot win on the merits of their arguments.

G. It's not that liberals are ignorant it's just they no so much that isn't so.

The Southern Strategy was made-up liberal propaganda? Then why did the RNC chairman apologize in a speech to the NAACP (new window) for it in 2005? I guess history never happened. The problem with health care vouchers for the elderly:

Who will insure them?

They are going to require medical treatment and end of life care. They are actuarially uninsurable because they will receive more treatment than what they are putting in. There is no way a private company could make money insuring them.

The option is to let them die, bankrupt their family, or subsidize their health via higher taxes or insurance rates. In all but the first case we will still have to pay for their care.

Roy_G_Biv: jehovahs witness protection: Just how stupid do democrats know their constituents are?

Dumb enought to believe that the ability to right off upfront expenses, which is something that virtually all similar businesses (those that don't see profits in the same year the expenses are incurred) are allowed to do means they are receiving "subsidies".

Dumb enough to think they are thus equivalent to green energy companies, which wouldn't exist without actually subsidies.

Dumb enough to think that programs like Medicare are basically finiancially sound.

Dumb enough to think that increasing taxes on the incomes of the wealthiest two percent would produce enough revenue to fund all of Obama/s wet dreams, and not merely a couple of days worth of his deficit spending.

Basically dumb enough to come to a constituent meeting and spew democratic socialist talking points and expect to be taken seriously.

But then again they're in Michigan, which is home to a special weapons-grade stupidity to dense for logic and facts to penetrate.

I'd say let Canada have Michigan, bu tI'm prrety sure they don't want it.

My formerly-Republican brother (Michigander) turned 65 around the time the Medicare D passed. He was enraged that he wouldn't be able to get prescriptions in Canada anymore. Denishek should have known better. Sault Ste. Marie is minutes away from Canada. There are parts of Michigan that are north of Canada (hey, Detroit!), and people have been going over the border for cheaper, better medical care for years. One of my cousins offered to put me up if I would just get lasik in Canada instead of the U.S. because she said it was better there and cheaper (ten years ago), even with 100% out of pocket. Seriously, people in Michigan know for a fact that they can get great care over the border because they go over the border for great care.
