Frances has the same piercing blue eyes her father had. Farking eerie.

That is some weapons grade crazy there.

That envy is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Sorry the Foo Fighters are winning grammies and selling out arenas while people are just surprised courtney is still alive. Maybe you should have eased up on the drugs.

She seems to be trying the rapper strategy of picking fights to try and stay relevant.

There's a point where someone is such a train wreck that you feel bad for them. That was about fifteen years ago. I wish she'd try to visit her late husband.

Her bitterness and hate are boiling over. There's a lot of shiatty things that could be said about a musician/person. Their music sucks, they sold out, they're phony, etc. But to slam the guy for hitting on a dead bandmate's daughter is pretty lame. Especially considering Grohl's reverance and true liking of Cobain that seems to come through in any conversation Cobain comes up in. I'd wish something awful on her but I think what's happening to her now (irrelevence, lack of attention) must be pretty awful to her.

I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way

He approached her in platonic way?

Was she ever a truly relevant musical force? Seems to me this is what she's done all along to get attention, pick fights, get hammered publicly and show cooch...now that such behavior is so garden variety from your average diva turned train wreck, she's nearly made it into the final sinkhole of obscurity. Her music, at least to me, never seemed to carry any sort of weight and she was only famous for her tirades and Kurt.

Live Through This was good. People say Kurt helped a lot with the songwriting on that album though. Courtney's delivery still leaves a bit to be desired.

It must be hard for Courtney to realize Nirvanna was more than just Kurt. In the 18 years since Kurt died Grohl has proved that he's probably the better musician and performer of the two and probably Kurt's equal as a songwriter.

And Grohl does it with a genuine sense of joy and appreciation rather than Kurt's air of gloomy burden.

/I say this as a big Nirvana fan.

There's a reason I refer to my step-dad as dad (RIP) and my biological father as "my father".

She's batshiat. And I think Dave Grohl is great, but Nirvana is one of the most overhyped bands of the last 30 years. I liked them, but people really seem to lose their grip on reality when it comes to what that band actually accomplished. If shotgun-head had actually lived, they probably would have broken up and gone into solo projects in the late 90's.

I'm kind of sort of with you there. Nirvana had a pretty big impact on me growing up, and I think I can speak for a lot of folks my age. So, there's that. There are a great many bands that I would not be listening to if it weren't for Nirvana cracking the door open, and blowing my 14 year old mind against the wall.

Having said that, I don't find myself listening to Nirvana now that I am *shudders* 33 years old. However, the world of music that this band opened me up to, I still hold dear.

He probably hit it. Dave just went back to what was most comfortable for him, hitting the skins and banging it out behind a Cobain.

I always tell this csb whenever there's a CL thread because it just says a lot about the mess that this woman is, like in real everyday life:

The wife and I were spending our 10th wedding anniversary at the Mondrian in West Hollywood and one night had dinner at the Chateau Marmont. Wonderful dinner, great drinks, sat next to Jason Segal (nice guy). Anyway, we're leaving and as we walk out, we notice a woman passed out on the bench just before the maitre d's station. And I mean, like passed the fark out. I thought it was interesting that none of the staff were making anything about it. Turns out they're quite used to it.

Upon further examination it was Courtney Love. On a Tuesday night.

I'd love to see Love get her shiat together. When she's not wasted, she seems smart, funny, and talented.

She was very pretty in that movie, but what impressed me was that she showed vulnerability and promise. What happened in her life that she needed the drugs? She could have done great things -- sober. Or mostly sober, at any rate.

That recent documentary about the new foo album painted him to be quite the family man.

You know, all things considered, Frances turned out okay. With those two parents I was worried she'd end up mentally ill and/or a substance abuser, but it looks like she's managed to dodge those genetic bullet, and looking at her mother, she should be thanking her lucky stars she did.
