Oh yeah? I'm not scared of you, Mr. hyper-intelligent space dinosaur!
Try building a deadly powerful intergalactic space cruiser with those tiny little arms.

Why would they necessarily be intelligent?
Evolution is about survival, not brainpower in and of itself.

The whole "handedness" of those molecule chains is a truly interesting thing. Take thalidomide for instance. Supposedly the big problem was that the version that was manufactured was left-handed, but the benign version is right-handed (or vice-versa).

The first part of this radiolab podcast explains it all pretty well:

I didn't watch it when it originally ran but caught the entire thing when it was running a few years ago on re-runs. Recorded episodes I couldn't watch at the moment. Some of the characters were farking annoying as hell but when 7 of 9 came along.... it became more interesting.

Be very worried. Even the long-dead and depressed space dinosaurs can be dangerous, and they don't really understand you're trying to help them get back to their space graveyard when you tie them to a rocket:

I've seen enough hentai to know it is the Space Dinosaurs who should be afraid of us!

Unless of course, they're into that stuff......

Abe Vigoda's Ghost: Professor Breslow, it should be noted, is no crackpot. He holds Columbia's highest academic rank, served as president of the American Chemical Society, is a recipient of the National Medal of Science and many other top honors, and is generally regarded as an all-around Eminent Scientist.

All that and still bat-shiat crazy. What a shame.

It's not crazy. He was talking about microbes that could potentially survive in a dormant state while traveling through space. It was scientifically-illiterate journalists who made the jump to "space dinosaurs".

I find it highly amusing that I saw a link to "How scientifically literate are you?" quiz in the middle of the article.
