This is my little Sabrina. She's MIA for months now.

I call her my scratchy cat. Half the size of a normal adult cat. Didn't like people much, only when she wanted something :) I think the possums got her during the big rains that filled the dam. I keep looking out the window at the bush across from the house, and think my little tortie she-devil will come sauntering into view.

I miss her.

I hope she comes home. Soon. I'll be crossing my fingers.

It's a good hand sized chunk of skin taken down under the stitches. Poor dog was in a lot of pain. It's been a week and he's better but doesn't get the stitches out until next week.

cyberbenali: I'm just stopping in before starting another action packed Caturday! It's been a big week around these parts...

Autumn is a beautiful kitteh, her colours are just gorgeous. Don't be a stranger, Elvis Bogart!

DoomsDayAardvark, Archie is well taken care of and is lucky to have you and your parents around.

Final academic update, I swear! This week, my thesis was passed, re-submitted and accepted. The whole thing is done and over. I am now "Master" cyberbenali.

Hopefully, we will be married at home later this summer. The landscaping is getting done in the back so I am off to buy grass seed and help sow it. In honor of the completion, soon-to-be hubby built me a rock garden from all the rock on the property and is ready to be planted. Also, the dress was picked out this week and ordered.

Anyway, I hope to check in later to see what the final card tally was for AlienDandelion!

What exciting news! Congrats!

DoomsDayAardvark: Finally Caturday...

Well, I have an Archie update, for those following the story. To recap, he's been fighting a nasty bacterial infection for the last couple of weeks. He's been on a couple different antibiotics, but he's just been getting sicker. Subcutaneous fluids have been perking him up, though, but he wouldn't eat much, and he doesn't want to drink at all. He had his long trip to see a specialist on Tuesday. He had several different tests done (so he, too, has a Biscuit-belly at the moment). It seems that the antibiotics have been working, but he's not getting better because...

he has cancer, and there's not really anything that can be done for him but try to make him comfortable. He probably doesn't have much time left. Right now, my folks are taking it a day at a time.

On the plus side, he really enjoyed his long trip. It was an adventure for him, with lots of new things to see and smell. He even got to meet (and exchange hisses with) his "nephew," Kay. (Sorry, no pics of the brief encounter). He tried out every window he could find, jumped up on a bed he'd never seen before, and generally enjoyed his adventure.

[i445.photobucket.com image 453x604]

/he's lost a lot of weight since that picture
//sorry to drag the thread down

So sorry to hear about Archie. I hope your mom & dad can enjoy the time he has left

Of course, but I have a weakness for showing off when given the opportunity. And no, I'm such a mix that I don't have a "family" anything. German, English, Scottish, French, Cherokee and Choctaw... and that's just the last five generations on my father's side, we have no idea what's up with my mom's side, she was adopted.

With girl kitties you just want to try to catch them before they have their first "heat" if possible. Certain hormone related cancers have a higher incidence the longer the girls have their girl-parts. My Niki had mammary cancer and that is one disease I would do anything possible to prevent. She was spayed during her first heat, but there was some ovarian tissue left behind that the vet had to go back in for several months later. Niki kept acting like she was in heat even though she had been spayed.
