Someone tell Joseph that, since he adopted Jesus as his earthly son.

Can't adopt, can't abort.

What the heck am I supposed to do now, Pope?

I understand their position.

If people adopt, then how will the Priests in catholic run orphanages be able to have a fresh supply of boys to molest?

Yeah, the Catholic League is not exactly the voice of the Church or mainstream Catholics.

The Catholic League is as 'Catholic' as the Westboro Baptist Church is 'Baptist'.

Keep them all, then get back to work making more of them. Don't worry though, between your bootstraps and the charity of your fellow churchgoers, you'll be fine!

The upshot of this: if you are adopted, you aren't loved as much.

Great lesson, Catholic League. I'm sure the Catholic orphans will sleep better tonight...

They're light sleepers, between the Nun Beatings and the Priest Touchings.

To be fair, going after Mrs. Romney is a losing proposition.

In order to take the moral high ground, you must actually occupy that territory first. All that opening up on Ann does is just re-open season on Michelle--for her cause as First Lady, it opens things up on the girls, it is just not a good idea.

I can understand the frustration on the Democrat's side, when every idiot with a blog figures that they can take a cheap shot at the First Lady, and it's just an "isolated incident" but the Victim Brigade is looking for examples of attacks on "strong Conservative women" and this doesn't really help advance the debate.

The Catholic League would like to remind you that they are a group of apologists for child rapists, and they would not exist, nor be able to purchase as much as a Speak n Spell, much less internet access for a Twitter account, if it were not for the preferential tax advantages given to religious organizations. Thank you, and continue to give generously.

For that to be of any value, that would imply that the GOP hadn't been going after them constantly for four years.

And once they do again, the Dems can point to this and say "why is what you said here not valid now?"

Besides, Rosen was right too.

According to Catholic tradition, Joseph and Mary never got it on after the marriage either. Which goes against Catholic Church teaching that children are an important part of marriage.

Any Jesus brother/sisters that were mentioned in the Bible are attributed to his first wife.

As a good Catholic, The Catholic League shouldn't support Romney at all for being part of what is considered a heretical cult.

Besides, in the Catholic Church it's perfectly great to adopt, if you cannot have children of your own. That's why I'm an Uncle now!

Actually, the correct answer is get married. All of these rules result in a whole lotta breeding, which is good for the church.

Keep in mind that the Catholic League does not speak for the Roman Catholic Church.

Basically every time the Catholic League opens its mouth, someone in the public relations office in the Vatican facepalms.

Yes, though also to be fair, AFAIK, Ms Rosen is not in any way officially connected to the President's re-election campaign, is she?

Also, she actually put out a real apology apology, not a "i'm sorry if anyone was offended" apology. So, good on her.

The hypocrisy of the position will be lost to the folks who will latch onto it. And those that it's not lost upon, will simply ignore it, because that's what they're paid to do.

The key at this point, is to show a clear alternative. An ethical alternative.

As a bouncer, I won't say that I didn't enjoy tossing some folks, and even find some joy when a guy who had been a sh*t all night, finally took a swing and that gave me a good excuse to put him down. I did.

Neither will I say, that this made me a good person. Certainly not a better person.

At this point, the Democrats have to be better. Not use the same tactics, or even the same arguments that Rove and his lot have been using. Because they're better at it, and better at playing the poor wounded soul, because they've been at it longer.

Negative campaigning works, but it can't be by proxy, and if Obama and the Democrats are going to crush Romney, they have to do it with his own words. Not give the GOP the opportunity to steal that play from him. Use policy and not proxy. Let the GOP send shills and paid operators to do the thing that their candidates are afraid to do.

The Democrats need to stick to their own playbook. Not borrow. Not get mad. Do this cold, appeal to their own base, and win over the undecided by being better.

To be fair, it appears the entire Democratic party has denounced her and the President has publicly said knock it off. I don't think the Dems have really lost here. Maybe a bit, but this will probably go away quick since the President got involved.

Plus again, Rosen spoke the truth.

These same sick f*cks want more women to carry to term who either can't care for or don't want the kids. Yes, let's add MORE kids to the foster care system.

I don't think they were going after adopted kids. I think they were trying to say that unlike that lesbo liberal, Ann Romney's husband knocked her up when they had hetero missionary sex so Romney's kids are obviously superior.

But yea, even if that is the real explanation, it's still sounds like they're a bunch of crazy nutjobs.

People who choose to adopt are good people.
Adopted people are good people.

The CL are uniformly bad or at the very least misguided people.

Clear?

The Catholic leadership is trying to cause us all to overpopulate. A too strict interpretation of "be fruitful and multiply". One that was given in order to save humanity from dying off. But by overpopulating we will follow the course of all animals who overpopulate. We will incubate some form of disease we cannot cure and that will kill us all.

Mainstream Catholics have no voice today. On one side is the Vatican claiming righteousness at every turn while standing pat in the 12th century, and on the other side are extremist bigots like the Catholic League, Focus on Family, etc.
