(Politico)   Sarah Palin's political action committee raised $388,000 in the first three months of the year, but it spent $418,000 and didn't give a dime to any candidates. So basically, it's functioning as intended   (politico.com) divider line 5

LouDobbsAwaaaay: She still buying up copies of her book to cash in on kickbacks?

/please donate to SarahPAC, republicans
//every dollar you send will get nowhere near helping the GOP advance its agenda

The Washington Post ran a series a few years back about how several big name Republicans (this appears to be an exclusively GOP phenomenon) from previous adminstrations like Linda Chavez, basically create PACs for hot-button GOP causes (like abortion) and then basically put their entire families on the payroll, and eat up all the money on "administrative expenses"

There are also direct-mail fundraising shops that specialize in picking hopeless, no-chance candidates running against Democrats who are deeply hated by the GOP base (Like Pelosi or Barney Frank or Shelia Jackson-Lee). They then run nationwide fund-raising campaigns for them imploring the GOP faithful to cough up cash so that brave candidate can "Take down" the hated dem.

What the contributors don't know usually, not being from that district is that A) the GOP candidate has ZERO chance of winning, being down 20,30, even 40 points in the polls and B) the candidate has signed an agreement with the fundraising company where the company retains about 90% of the cash raised for "fundraising costs" and the candidate gets 10% or less (which is still far more money than they could hope to raise locally, which is why they go for it).

The sad thing about this sort of poltical parasitism, is that the gullible people giving to these fundraisers don't realize they are actually HURTING the cause because they are sending money to the wrong people leaving none to give when/ where it would actually do some good.

fta: The two-and-a-half-minute video, which was made to look like a movie trailer, was titled "Game Change We Can Believe In."

The video splices together a series of laudatory statements about Palin from McCain strategists Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace, who are portrayed in "Game Change" as expressing doubts about Palin.

From back during the campaign when they pretty much had to lie to everyone about how unprepared she was about pretty much everything?

*rolls eyes*

What doubts, btw?

The woman is an idiot, admittedly an idiot with a certain low cunning that's perfectly suited for grifting the low functioning rubes who buy into her "Beauty Queen on a Cross" schtick.

Aside from the aforementioned rubes, that's pretty much common knowledge around the globe by now.

Shouldn't that be illegal?

In a civilized nation, I mean.
