ZeroCorpse: cgraves67: If you're going to steal a TV, try to steal a flat screen or something made in the last 5 years. If it's one of those old CRT TVs, just throw it in the dumpster. There's no way you can pawn that for any kind of money and you'd be doing the hotel a favor.

Seriously... If you want a CRT TV, just dig around in the trash. I'm sure you'll find one in some apartment complex dumpster easily enough. It's not worth the bother to steal them.

We can't even legally throw away CRTs anymore here. They're heavy largely because they contain lead. Not just a little, a CRT's interior can contain many lbs of lead powder.

A local recycler will accept CRTs- for $11. But they do accept them from residents on bulk trash day. There's no way businesses can legally get rid of them for free (classified as "hazardous waste"), and residents are out of luck outside of bulk trash day, they won't fit in a can. IIRC Goodwill either won't take CRTs or at least try not to take them.

So they're rapidly becoming a piece of junk it's a liability to even HAVE.

Most hotels I've been to recently have a little card in the room that says you can pretty much take whatever you want, but that a certain amount will be charged to your credit card. Their $3 alarm clock could set you back $25.

I wonder if she's for hire? This hotel bed I'm lying on right now is so much more comfortable than the one I have at home; I was telling hubby just last night we should take it with us when we go...

How did she not drop that thing?! We recently got rid of a similar TV and it took 3 people to move it! Two to carry it and one to open the doors...

It's a 17" TV, she's just 3'6"

Gotta love All of those florida crime stories are like they were scripted for tv.

#39 Accused of operating a meth lab inside a camper parked in a stranger's yard. Charges: Possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine.

#27 Allegedly seen at the bus stop by several boys as he drove by naked from the waist down while masturbating. Charge: Lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim under 16 years old

#28 Allegedly offered sex to an undercover officer for 2 cheeseburgers. Charge: Prostitution

#32 Accused of taking a 13-year-old girl and together they went on all-day stealing marathon, shoplifting more than $3,000 worth of merchandise, including a dog and hamster. Charges: Two counts of grand theft, four counts of petit theft, one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of child abuse

somehow i think the hamster tied into the child abuse charge.

and that's just the tip..

I assume that $700 doesn't include that seriously out of date and therefore worthless TV.

Perhaps she is not a complete weakling.

Or perhaps she was strung out on PCP and felt she had superhuman strength...

better question is what kind of crappy hotel still has tube tv's? if im gonna get busted its gonna be for a LCD or LED flatscreen.

suck it plasma.

Surprisingly, all the hotels in my area until last year -still- had the old Tube TVs.Last year one of them upgraded to the LCD, and friggin' bolted it to the wall.
