From a financial standpoint, it's the cheaper way to go.

A federal arrest warrant affidavit details how Ryan Grant, the owner of Flashdancer, wanted to pay illegal immigrants from Mexico $10,000 per murder victim.

That's just a metaphor for the relationship between business and politicians in the good old United Snakes of America. Unfortunately, nobody's looking out for the serfs, so the serfs will have to start taking care of business for themselves.

"He said the city cost him $800,000 by closing Flashdancer for the year and was trying to revoke his sexually oriented business license to stop him from reopening."

But I thought there was no sex in the champagne room? Until there is actual sex involved, it ain't a "sexually oriented" business. Nudity is only "sexual" to the prurient puritans. Swinging on a pole is an athletic exercise. These girls have to put themselves through college somehow. It's a travesty!

We used to have a sin strip through the middle of downtown. The city bought up all the buildings and I'm sure they claimed eminent domain on a few to get them to close down. The owner of one establishment took it to court and held his ground as long as possible.

The city tore down all the buildings except his because he tied it up in court. This guy came in the night and had the entire 2 story building painted bright pink. It was a giant middle finger for several weeks. He tried to move to another location but the city wouldn't approve it. So there he took one of those lighted signs, put "fark City Council" on both sides, chained it to the building, and screwed fencing over the sign so the letters couldn't be removed. Took them a couple more weeks to get that off the property.

I woulda liked to party with that guy.

Seriously. Why do town leaders hate natural human bodies, athletic weight-trimming exercise and education?

It's almost like they WANT us to all be burkha-clad, fatties too dumb to drop the bag of Cheetos, turn off The Jersey Shore and go for walks out in the sunshine.

In all fairness, this club was very sleazy known for prostitution and drug dealings. City shut it down for those purposes. The women weren't that hot either.

Never been, only heard.

Arlington has had a war on Strip Clubs for a long time. They only allowed air dances. Tipping on stage meant putting money in a little plastic container because they have not only a no contact rule, they have a 6 foot distance rule. Lots of clubs closed and the few that stayed open had the nastiest dancers because they can't make any money. The funny thing is the clubs are worse for crime now because they're gang infested.

Yeah, I have to say, even a bikini espresso stand.

A strip club has many, many girls, all making a lot of money.

The stand has maybe two girls, selling coffee. They didn't look like there were a lot of customers there to me.

Do I side with the scummy strip club owner, or the scummy politician. Damn. I'm just not sure.

What was that old saying from some old book: I think a servant of the Enemy would look fairer and feel fouler.

One of them exploits women for money. The other sells out everyone in his community for a corporate bribe. Hmmm.

I'm telling you, tough decisions.

What is the difference when the Mayor and the DA send uniformed thugs to shut down your business, kidnap you and extort money from you?

vudukungfu: Oooooooooooooooooooooo, they even have a newsletter, and everything.

I'm not so sure about that: It might just be online. My point isn't that the New Black Panther Party is the most credible group of nuts out there (they aren't), but that that they have been screaming their fool heads off in a pretty crazy direction for a while.

scarmig: One of them exploits women for money. The other sells out everyone in his community for a corporate bribe. Hmmm.

What are you basing this on? Maybe he does maybe he doesn't surely you don't think all strip clubs are exploitation. Women get a free pass on this stuff it seems. They freely choose to enter a career selling their image but it's not their fault, they are being exploited? It's as if the people who are against this sort of thing and trot out the exploitation angle have no respect for the individuals who choose that career/job/$50 on amateur night to make decisions for themselves.

Either that, or they don't think that most if not all corporations exploit their workers - either way, they're retarded.
