Seriously, did anyone not see this coming? Surprised Petrino got caught out only a couple of weeks after she was hired.

This article just looks awesome in hindsight.

Here's what Coach Bobby Petrino had to say about the addition of Dorrell to the football staff:

"Jessica Dorrell will be a great addition to our football program. As a former student-athlete she has an enthusiasm for the Razorbacks and is familiar with what the University of Arkansas can offer. She is extremely organized and has a professional approach, which should translate well into our program and recruiting as we continue to place an emphasis on this area."

I tend to think all college football and major basketball coaches are scumbags until proven otherwise. It takes a special type of sociopath to sit in the living rooms of 17 and 18 year olds and their families, many mired in poverty for endless generations, and try convince them to give you their golden ticket knowing at the drop of a hat you'll leave them when you get a better offer elsewhere or tell them to transfer out to clear room for another scholie if they don't meet expectations.

Hog fan here.

I am very disapointed. Our program was heading to great things on the field. I could see it.

However, I don't want it if it means selling out my integrity.

I can only hope we pick up a stable leader going forward. How much of a bad position are we in ? Arkansas is a top 5 finisher last season, will be top 10 in pre-season polls, has a good recruiting class, is in the SEC...is in the WEST of the SEC and finished 5th!! What are the intitial gut feelings here in the thread?

I think it was the 20k payment that pretty much sealed it for him. They probably would have ignored the affair and lying and let him come back, but the whole way his mistress was hired and that payment just raises all sorts of legal questions.

So I've seen a few people say they feel bad for the girl's soon-to-be ex-fiance, and in the short term that's probably true, but that motorcycle accident is the best thing that could have happened to him. He probably never would have found out what a slut he could have ended up with, now he gets a clean getaway before the wedding.

And Petrino's a scumbag, blah blah blah, who didn't know that already?

Being a guy from ASU, I'm the harshest critic of the Hogs you'll meet. However, Jeff Long is a hell of an AD. It took major stones to do the right thing here. Assuming the wallets don't can him, it'll turn out better for the university in the long run.
