Help us Sarah Palin, you're our only hope.

Lots of articles online that are too long to have been written so soon.

I wonder if anyone saw this coming?

Brandyelf: My Rush Limbaugh-listening, God-fearing, gun-toting officemate haz a sad. He just told me Santorum was the only one he thought had a good head on his shoulders. I told him there was no use frothing at the mouth, to just put it all behind him.

I told him Santorum scared the crap out of me. He told me none of them scare him as much as the current occupant of the White House.

This is why we don't talk politics at work.

Grand_Moff_Joseph: BunkoSquad: In 24 hours, the Tea Party will be claiming they supported Mitt all along.

Doubtful. They'll either continue to vote for notRomney out of spite, or just not vote at all in the primaries, hoping that depressed turnout will send a message of its own.

After a few months, the TP will realize that the party brass has thrown them under the bus for good, and they will revolt.

Ask him why. After all:

-Bin Laden and his allies are dead
-Iraq is over
-DOW is up over 100%
-Unemployment is down almost 1% in less than four years
-Oil production is at all-time highs
-Deportations and raids against employers are at new highs
-The military is no longer firing its best language translators because they are gay
-He can carry his gun more places today than he could in 2008

Not sure why it's so bad for him

Seeing as how we won't have Rick to kick around any more, I'd like to take this opportunity to share all the Santorum headlines I had redlit.

Romney may wipe the floor with Santorum in Illinois

Newt pulling out won't lead to a surge of Santorum

Santorum's wife says gays are carrying out a dirty smear campaign against her husband

Thanks for the laughs, Rick. Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split ya.

2012-04-10 02:21:29 PM
This is so abrupt that there HAS to be a VP nom in his future. This just smacks of a shady backroom deal.

make me some tea: Weaver95: the freepers are screaming like a pack of Nazgul right now.

Holy hell, they really seem to hate Romney as much as they hate Obama. A lot of em are gonna sit this one out from the looks of it.

Is it because he has little chance against Obama or is it because they hate Mormons?

they'll knuckle under and vote Romney, you wait and see.

Probably. I'll keep an eye on the TPN rhetoric.

Hobodeluxe: actually he's just suspending it. I'm guessing that is so he can continue taking in money.

Well ending a campaign also means you have to reimburse money not spent. If you end in debt though you can continue raising money to pay back that debt.

RminusQ: And so it goes...

Total committed: Romney 563, Santorum 205, Gingrich 132, Paul 27, Huntsman 2, Undeclared 22, Uncommitted 7, Unclaimed 4.

Superdelegates (according to FL/DCW): Romney 33, Gingrich 2, Santorum 2, Paul 1.

GRAND TOTAL: Romney 596, Santorum 207, Gingrich 134, Paul 28. 1144 to win.

All frothy has to do is pledge all of his delegates to Newt and we're back in business.

Well With Sanitarium out that pretty much means Mormoney has the nomination on a silver platter.

As someone who is more of a socaial con than a fiscal one, a fiscal con/social lib like Mormoney is about as far off base from me as Nobama is.

2012-04-10 02:22:27 PM

netweavr: Santorum should run as an Independent.

...Please let this happen. The entertainment value would be absolutely priceless and it would most likely remove any chance of the Republicans winning in November.

As of tomorrow morning they have always loved Romney for a set of reasons to be written up over the next 24 hours.

Going home to Pennsylvania, er Virginia? Sorry. Got 'im confused. He lived in one and represented the other.

Well, Ron Paul get's my vote. I'd rather chew glass than vote for Romney.

With all the bozos running this year, we should have a nationwide write-in campaign for Drew Curtis.

And here...we...GO!

2012-04-10 02:23:18 PM
On a serious note, I'm sad that we won't get to see a presidential candidate run on an anti-porn platform in the year 2012.

2012-04-10 02:23:20 PM

LordJiro: Well, see, black people are just innately scary to certain groups.

I don't know if that's the case or not. The industry I work in is full of ex and retired military types who tend to be very small-government (except for DEFENSE), conservative people. I suspect it's more the Democratic stance on gay marriage, abortion rights, etc, that set him off.

I could be wrong, though.

Hobodeluxe: actually he's just suspending it. I'm guessing that is so he can continue taking in money.

Suspending is what they all do; no one formally drops out. Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Huntsman and even good old Tim Pawlenty all suspended their campaigns. And yes, it's to continue to take in money, mainly to pay off debts.

2012-04-10 02:23:38 PM
That's what happens when you threaten people's porn

AnnoyingKidNextDoor: Depends how militant the Tea Party gets, but I can't help but wonder if he's doing this to rise up Romney's shortlist for VP. I mean who else is there for Pete's sake?

Rubio is the obvious choice. He has no path to victory without Florida. Plus the Tea Party folks like him, even though he pretends they don't exist for the most part anymore.

"Candidate pulls out: Santorum gets cleaned up by Romney"

I want another picture of Santorum with his family but this time with his son crying while holding his Real Doll.
