We gave Six-Toe County a reactor? Hopefully, there's no fuel in that thing and the cooling tower is only being used as a smokehouse.

"nukeular" *obviously* refers to something that could be made into a "nuke" or nuclear weapon? are you ghey??

That and the fact we are too stupid to properly dispose of nuclear waste are the only 2 reasons I'm against nuclear power.

When it's cheaper to lobby for more lax regulations and pay off officials than to adhere to safety standards, it's a 100% guaranty that is what will happen.

We need mandatory life sentences for top executives who allow stuff like that to happen.

You can't put too much water in a nuclear reactor.

We will not need nuclear power plants once we all glow in the dark.

I bet they can buy a new reactor at Costco.

TFA: The NRC, which met with FPL on Feb. 21 to discuss its inspection findings, said plant personnel had disabled part of the ventilation system, which could have left workers unprotected from radiation.
Bianca Cruz, spokeswoman for FPL's Turkey Point plant, said outside experts hired by FPL say the emergency center's ventilation system would have been operable in an emergency.

So in an emergency, we're just going to politely ask the guy who unplugged the motors to plug them back in, so we can pretty-please breathe clean air. If we can even find him....

And this is why we need government, to tell these people to do their farking jobs.

//b-b-but we have this really awesome life insurance policy on our workers, payable to the company

What the hell! Is there any nuke plant in FL which isn't fuxed? Crystal River's a time bomb waiting to blow, now Turkey Point is an issue? FPL must be slacking. Turkey Point took Hurricane Andrew back in 1992 without a problem other than phone lines getting cut...but anyone who has dealt with BellSouth/AT&T knows this feeling all too well.

CSB time:

One day when I was in middle school in South Florida, our class was discussing a topic on nuclear power as well as the effects of fallout radiation in nuclear disasters. The teacher brought up Turkey Point as an example of a local nuclear plant and told us that if a meltdown were to ever occur there, all of us would be instantly killed in a resulting nuclear explosion.

This was the science teacher. At the "good" county public school.

Hi, I work in nuclear power and I say NOOKYOULAR.

So do half my coworkers. And my dad says "warsh" instead of wash. Point is, ACCENTS.

I fail to see how Crystal River will hurt anyone since it's been shut down for years and will be shut down for several more years.
