Everybody likes Batman, but his core audience is still young. It probably always will be. No movie maker would be foolish enough to exclude that audience at the box office.

Besides, as TFA points out (though I suspect it did so unintentionally), a movie's rating actually has little to do with the maturity of its subject matter. Many R-rated movies handle their subject matter in the most immature ways imaginable, and a PG-rated movie in the right hands can tackle some surprisingly mature subjects.

Just remember what the MPAA says - horrible, deplorable violence is OK, so long as you don't say any naughty words!

Batman wins, Bane dies, Talia gets away, some message about rich people should protect the less fortunate and how Batman is an idea that you can't kill is told. Within two days of movie being released right wing pundits claim Hollywood is using the movie to push people to vote for Obama or something equally stupid.

I liked the idea some farker threw out to just call it Gotham.

After watching him in Bronson and Warrior, I have to say Tom Hardy's a damn fine actor and I can't wait to see him in this. Yes, I saw the DKR prologue and the trailers and can understand his Bane voice.Mostly.

How about we just admdit we need teenagers to buy tickets, and so we don't have to ruin good movies just because of that, they release both pg13 and r versions for the theaters?

Because higher ratings do not make for better films. All too often, in fact, it becomes the opposite: the high rating is a marketing hook for a film with nothing going for it but the very things that caused it to get the rating.

hunger games would have been good (as opposed to ok) if it had been R.

It is highly doubtful that the movie would have been one whit better with a higher rating.

This movie is coming out in July, yet a copy is available now for rating purposes? I expect a downloadable print within the next month or two (with an unintelligible Bane voice)...

I much prefer to think of it as her having been his #1 fan, and her real name being Harleen Quinzel.

I'm not sure if it got leaked, but I saw like 6min of footage (all grainy and low quality) of this insane plane sequence where Bane escapes, it looks out of control.

HQ coming for revenge over Ledger's death would have been perfect casting for Anne. What a missed opportunity.
