Last Spring I went out on my bicycle on the first warm day of the year and wore no head-covering under my helmet. I shave my head. My very white scalp had not seen clear, blue sky for many, many months. I couldn't find the sunscreen but figured, ehh, that's overrated this early in the year.

The vents of my helmet left a very Darth Maul-ish sunburn on my shiny bald head.

The guy in the last picture looks like one of my kids. He tans very easily, even with sunblock, and wears board shorts most of the summer. He ends up with a very white band from knees to just below his navel. He swears this year he's going with a banana sling. Not if Mama can help it!!

I don't understand this list.....

First - almost none of them involve someone drawing on anyone with suntan lotion. They are almost all intentional choices.
Second - they are all tagged with 'PaleIsTheNewTan.com' - but the majority of them are pale people who spent a day in the sun and have funny tan lines. IE - they look silly because of the contrast between pale and tan; if they'd tanned a little bit all over or worn sun screen; they'd look fine.
Third - All of the BodyBuilders get a free pass on this. Most of them fake tan right before. I know a guy who competes in bodybuilding competitions and while he does really silly on stage - the other 95% of the year women are lining up to hit on him Half of the weird looking bodybuilders were still standing next to a smoking hot girl.

The orange guidos...eh - I don't understand that either - but a lot of them also seem to be next to attractive women. So I guess they know something Farkers don't.

I really dug those two skinny guys, one old and one young, one who's spent his whole life in the sun, the other seeing the sun for the first time. It's a good balance, even if not a fantastic photo.

Most of those fell into one of two categories, bad sunburns obtained why not specifically attempting to tan or spray on tans which look dumb. I would have enjoyed it if there were more 'friends drawing with sunscreen' and less people damaging their skin accidentally or exposing their shallowness by purchasing a tan.

For the same reason so many Asians make the V-sign, I guess. The V-sign is supposed to mean "peace" or "friendship." I think the duck lips are supposed to mean something like "Look at me, I'm cool."

I don't know if I missed some; but yeah, I'd say that's an attractive bunch of women. I don't know what you consider attractive and yes, there is some degree of subjectivity here....but I think most people would agree with me.

I inadvertently did this to someone and I felt really bad about it. I had spray-on sunscreen and was "helping" someone by spraying it on his back, but I forgot about the part where you're supposed to manually spread it around. He got bad sunburn everywhere except where the spray hit.

When I was in the Army, I had a run in with a radiator that burned part of my face and army. While being debrided, the guy next to me was also getting his skin scraped off. He had just arrived on Hawaii, went to the north shore where he fell asleep. They were peeling the skin off his legs. He seemed to be in a better mood than I. "Ah shunt 'o fallen asleep on the beach, ha ha. "

Afterwards, the fat ass Major who was 'supervising' these procedures, popped out of his office. He went over to laughing boy and was working the paperwork on him. Who did the pre-op? You? Good. Who did the debriding? You? Good. Who wrapped? You? Good. Who gave him the pain killer? You. Oh and you?" Turns out Laughing Boy got two dose of meds and had to stay for a while.

Then Fat Ass comes over to me. Who did the pre-op? You? Good. Who did the debriding? You? Good. Who wrapped? You? Good. Who gave him the pain killer? Anyone? No one? He looked at me and said "I'll bet you're in a lot of pain." Turns out they had given my dose to laughing boy. They shot me up with a nice dose of Demerol and sent me on my way with a Saluting Profile (if you are unable to perform basic duties, you have to have a profile) Yes. There is a Saluting Profile and yes, I did get asked for it in spite of the arm sling and badges.

Turns out there were a lot of GI's who show up and Hawaii, head off to the North Shore and wind up getting some serious sun burns. Also ran in to it in Panama but not as bad.
