Do you think he's pushing for the vice president slot or is he just that much of an ass? I really don't think he'd bring much to the ticket as a VP candidate.

/meh, neither of these guys have a shot this year

I don't think he's ever serve as Romney's. But you never know...some bitter rivals have done it before. My intuition this time says no.

I think he's running for 2016. Cause he sure ain't running for this one. Unless he's insane.

Oh wait

I remember this headline from 2008 only it was Hillary who couldnt be reasoned with. As long as there is a media stake in keeping the primary appear competitive there will be some poor shmuck spending buttloads of money to stay in a race they have already lost.

Oh FFS.

Leave it to Santorum to try and avoid a perceived bad image (the pink bowling ball) and end up creating a real bad image (intolerant bullying a-hole).

Although, when put that way, maybe he should be Mitt's running mate. Their haplessness may complement each other.

Right? "I don't want to look like a homo, so you'd better not f*cking use that ball while the cameras are going you little punk"

It couldn't have made him look more like an insecure d-bag bully. And there was just so much animosity about it. Little incidents like that really make you realize how much of his ideology and "message" are based upon little more than hatred and contempt.

I believe there are people who can govern separately from their faith and personal beliefs. I don't believe Santorum can.

Why Rick Santorum won't stop

Because the longer he runs, the further he drags the GOP and the country to the right.

I've been quite pleased with the media coverage of this point, and their discussion of Santorum's successes and failures during his tenure in their representation. It's clear he must have left Pennsylvanian politics on a high note, and would do the same on the national scene!

Santorum needs to force Romney to be Romney's running mate against Obama. Palin needs to get involved and tell Romney to accept Santorum as his running mate or accept the party will be split in half.

That or split the Republican Party by 20%. In 2008, people were worried about that and they decided to support McCain.

The only person that can save us now is Bush.

I think he is, and what he will bring to the ticket (supposedly) is the Religious/Conservative "base" of the GOP, who don't like Mitt because he's too "liberal" even after all his position-shifting.

/GOP Convention is going to be a hell of a lot of fun to watch this year.

The First Crusade was launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II to check the advance of the Muslims and regain control of the city of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.

Muslim armies had conquered Syria, Persia, Palestine, Egypt, North Africa, Spain, Sicily, Southern Italy, Cyprus, Rhodes, Sardinia, Majorca, Crete, and Malta which had been some of the most heavily Christian areas in the world. They attacked Rome and even made it to within 100 miles of Paris before they were turned back.

Thousands, and possibly millions, of Christians died during this drive to eventually bring the entire world under Islam.

So would it be an act of aggression for Mexico and Great Britain to jointly invade the United States to reclaim the territory lost to the US?

I prefer the "why not?" option. What else is he going to do? If he had a more lucrative offer, you better believe he'd be taking it while telling everyone how the "liberal" media chased him out.

Santorum is still in it because he hopes to hold some sway in the party by having the religious base coalesce behind him. He won't be asked by Romney to join the ticket however. I'm pretty sure he's pissing Mitt off daily by not dropping out. What Mittens needs is someone from the South who has deep Christian roots and doesn't have a funny name like Piyush or Nimrata but those folks don't tend to like Meh Romney.

An ass? The guy is trying to be the President of the United States and he's received thousands of votes. Think about how good you feel when you get 40 likes after you post a pic of you hugging your grandma on Facebook. He'll never be closer than he is right now, even if that seems like he's lightyears away to the political pundits. Also, where is he going to go? He's flying around shaking hands and giving speeches for money. Why would anyone want to get off of that gravy train? See: Palin, Sarah.

Seriously, though. We cant keep allowing the media to pick our candidates for us and then biatch about how there atren't any choices. There are 50 states in the Union. It's not just Iowa, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Florida. Why do we allow MSNBC, FOX, or anyone else dictate to us when a candidate should leave the race if its still mathematically possible for him to get enough delegates?

What makes you think Romney would even consider it? His campaign will do the same thing McCain's did: pick the person who they think can unite the party and increase voter turnout. Hopefully they won't fail as spectacularly as with Palin. Or hopefully they do. Whatever.

"The Crusades" include several wars against non-Muslim parties who had not committed any aggression against Christianity, or had been victims of Christian aggression:

Albigensian Crusade (new window)
Wendish Crusade (new window)

And then there was the Fourth Crusade (new window), which resulted in the Frankish conquest not of Muslim lands, but of Constantinople, then still in Byzantine hands.
