(Examiner)   The Three Stooges are hosting WWE Monday Night Raw, because that's the best way to follow up the return of Brock Lesnar. Hopefully, Bret Hart will smack Will Sasso around again and tell him to quit pretending to be Curly. 9 PM on USA   (examiner.com) divider line 1687

SharkTrager: FinFangFark: But yeah, Vince and his office of 'tard writers kill the naturally hot angles, for fear of it not being of their own fruition, and instead give us the 3 Stooges, Hornswoggle segments, and a bevy of promos.

Vince is afraid of angles that are not their creation because they can't control where they go.

What they do not get is that people have seen it all now. The only way to keep them interested is to be unpredictable.

There is not an active angle right now that hasn't been done before, and in most cases better.

Who'd have thought, a year ago, when Punk cut that EPIC promo/partial shoot on Vince being dead is good for business, that we'd have be echoing those sentiments with a passion.

Oh and to whoever earlier (don't feel like scrolling up) brought up Vince needing competition to be better, I have a tangent on that. It grinds my gears when they talk about the Monday Night Wars, and Vince always mentions "He was trying to put me out of business, to take away my livelyhood, and i take some offense to that"

You know, the same tactics he used thirty years ago! He bought his dad's promotion, and strong armed territories by pilfering away their talent, and sneaking in under JC promotions to get on TBS to make his organization a national, then global. You know, because THAT DIDN'T PUT PEOPLE OUT OF A JOB YOU F$*KTARD!

I love wrestling b/c of the nostalgia it has as an entertainment value for me. The fWc has made it interesting to keep up again, because in that stretch of Orton/Cena for two years, I didn't tune in or read up on anything wrestling. But, I admit, I really do hate Vince McMahon, as much as I hate the retarded sense of logic behind TNA's booking of angles.

I had high hopes last night, especially after last week's awesomeness. Terrible letdown. Just a miserable excuse for entertainment.

How was the show? Did I miss anything good besides Cena getting punched in the mush?

Your best option would be to watch Cena get punched and then fast forward to........let's see.........oh, I know. Fast forward to the part where the WWE logo appears on the screen at the end.

Well the first minute or two of the Punk promo were good, and then it suddenly turned into addictions to abortions.

I'm not sure Punk likes this angle at all. I think there's a reason he's starting to have the same negative comments he had when he was considering leaving. I also think it's interesting that, at a time the WWE is indoctrinating their wrestlers on the proper use of Twitter, his use of Twitter has waned.

He's also the kind of guy that I can absolutely see doing things like dragging the belt instead of wearing it to send a message, while also half assing the promo because it's just moronic and not anything he would actually say. What I find interesting is that I still think they are taping Jericho's Trinitron bits even when he is in the building. More and more they do not seem to trust their wrestlers to do anything where they can't edit what is said.

Agreed. I followed CM Punk for 2 years on twitter, when he opened it up. He is still a jackass, but he was great with how he interacted with marks and stupid media types messaging him. But since the WWE has gone all #Hashtagsaredivine he hardly tweets. It's not his schedule, because he tweeted heavily when on tour the past few years, when he was WHC, etc...since the front office has been pushing this, he's steered away.

Good for him. Because it's becoming ridiculous, just like his current angle.

What, you mean that the "You're a big nasty bastard and your mama just said so!" angle was done better when it involved the Bluesmobile dragging a casket behind it?

You mean that using alcohol addiction and dumping Jack down someone's throat was more effective when the person involved was a legitimate recovering alcoholic, not just the straight edge son of an alcoholic?

...and that's just one angle! One angle involving the guy who was at one time on track to become the new face of the company, but is now just an E.M.O Punk.

I'm disappointed in Punk's angle. It totally sucks. They should take the strap off him if they are just going to use him like that. He's not believable as a champ, if they are going to turn his character into that. A guy who cries over something that Jericho says has a chance against Lesnar, or anyone like that? It's BS. I started watching again when we had the summer of Punk last year, and he was funny and didn't give a crap what he said. That was entertaining. They've just killed him. It makes no sense that a guy like that would go all emotional over this crap. He should just be kicking Jericho all over the arena, for being a knob. And why would he call him "Chris" when Jericho is saying all that crap, as well. Booking has been terrible, who writes this crap (soap writers). It reminds me of WCW when it was dying. Poorly written, amateurish angles, that left people shaking their heads going "WTF?". What a waste of time it has become, certainly not entertaining. Last night's RAW was horrible. 3 Stooges indeed. Did I mention that it was crap?

I don't have team to read the whole thread but I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed he was dragging the belt last night. I remember not long ago he was on a talkshow or news segment and he made it a point that he WEARS the belt while most other guys drag it or put it on their shoulder.

THIS! This was my argument from the very beginning of this whole stupid angle. After Jeri-troll finished his very first diatribe Punk would have been like "So? And? Fark you." And that would have been the end of that.

I myself would've preferred, as said before, Punk to taunt Jericho with the need for BS mind games as proof Jericho knows he's not the Best in the World, and then beat him in the ring...the way it's going now, we BETTER end with Jericho going 1.0 on the Muta scale.

Like the universe where Edge and Christian are brothers, and the other where they are childhood friends.

I Said: Soooo . . . .say we get this same shiat next week. Then what? Jump to TNA? Do they even compete on monday nights?

People like to say "Vince is a genius" because he won the Monday Night Wars and the 80's, but without competition forcing his hand he's really terrible.

"Vince is a genius" because...he got lucky with the MNW and the 80s. Not because he's a genius.

Now Paul Heyman? Different story.

Pretty much this. If reports are true that Vince is looking for new blood to replace the likes of 'Taker, why hasn't he just let things happen, keep the things that DO work, and run with them?

Because he's not looking for new blood. New scares him. He wants to take established people and then wants to try to change their character and have that be the "new blood". The problem is, the days when you could take a guy on the roster, give him a new name and gimmick and pretend they aren't the same guy are gone.

Truth has had 3 versions of the same gimmick in the last 9 months. The Miz has essentially only kept his name and tagline. Punk has gone from fighting the establishment to dealing with personal demons. Cena, the freaking face of the company, has had 3 different versions of his gimmick. D-Bry has only kept the same name. Ryder, well,, his gimmick was thin anyway.

The only people he hasn't changed gimmicks on are the old guard and Hunter's buddies. Then they do not get why people aren't staying attached to any of the talent (including Punk) and think it's because they can't generate heat.

"uhm, dad..."

Someone call the Tunneys in Toronto! Jack always liked being onscreen... maybe he knows something about this Gene Kiniski fellow I've been hearing about! If nothing else, he might be able to tell me more about this upstart Stu Hart, and that corral or courtyard or whatever he calls that dungeon of a basement of his.

"Why the hell didn't somebody tell me Jerry Lawler works for us? See if he can get a hold of that Kaufman character. I've got an idea."

I just heard the news... those bastards at the NWA did a title switch! Who did they put it on? Edouard Carpentier? Orville Brown? Dick Hutton?!?

We're going to have to hotshot tonight because of this! Someone get ahold of Ivan Koloff, see if he can come in for a quick run with the belt!

RATINGS ARE IN!

WWE Dropped hard, down from a 2,0 both hours last week to a 1.6 for the first hour and 1 1.7 for the second hour in the 18-49 demographic. As for overall viewers, they went from 5 million overall for both hours last week to 4.2 and 4.3 million this week.

I'm glad this RAW bombed compared to last week, especially since coming off of Lesnar's return the show should have been so interesting people wanted to tune in to see what was going to happen next and stay tuned in. I'm disappointed because everyone but Senile Vince and the Soap Writers will be blamed for the bad ratings

Senile Vince knew he should have given Miz's spot to Whipper Billy Watson instead...

I got in such a hurry to make the obligatory Miz joke I forgot to say I agree. Everyone will be blamed except the one who deserves it.

Punk's father is an alcoholic. His sister is a drug addict. His dog has heart-worms. Punk is, himself, a bastard. His mom is a pretty nice lady though.

That's because I'm dodging lightning from the Dale Sr./Pink Floyd joke in the Junior thread.

The only Floyd joke I see is from "OldIron79". Why post from an alt? Also, no one's even quoted you on it yet.

Is this a different thread then the one about Jr's backyard track?

I'm afraid that next week, EMO Punk will come out in heavy eyeliner and start cutting himself when Jericho brings up how Punk's Cousin's Uncle's Sister's Maid's Milkman's aunt's twice-removed cousin once took too many No-Doz and stayed up to watch Count Gor De Vol, then accidentally fell asleep and forgot to pick young Punk up from school.

I saw someone asked how I got the signs into Raw. We went into a side entrance after most people were in the building. After my wife's purse was checked I threw the signs on the table and said, "there are 100 signs and the all say yes."

The woman working the table said "oh Lordy" and started thumbing through. I then said, "you can trust me I'm a lawyer."

She looked at the other security guard with a look that said, "I don't get paid enough for this." She asked if I could just go through and he said yes.

The other staff that had just been watching began asking how long the signs took and why thy all said yes

Once we took our seats I asked those there if thy wanted a sign. Once people saw me giving them away people just started coming to me. Every time I handed out a sign I yelled "yes"

It was at this point my wife tells me that we attracted security. She said she was concerned for a moment we would be getting kicked out. I guess they though better than to say something since we weren't doing anything wrong and there would have been some angry fans if they removed us.

I did hear that some of the Yes! signs were upside down. SMRT!

Here's hoping the numbers continue to drop. It's going to take a lot for Vince to realize that he's the cause of things failing. A shrinking "universe" will help in that.
