As most of you are aware, RabidDog passed away on December 5, 2011. He was well loved and is missed by many.

His mother wishes to convey her overwhelming gratitude to the Fark community for their kindness and generosity. Your donations paid for his remains to be flown from Poland where he passed away, home to her in England; a touching memorial service; and for his cremation. There were funds left after these things had been paid and it is his mother's wish that the remaining funds be forwarded to the NaSkAr Kashani/Fark Friendship Fund so that another Fark friend/family can be helped in the future, as she was helped. It is her wish that your generosity be paid forward.

Link goes to a photo album of a private memorial garden in the U.S. where his ashes have been scattered. The garden features yellow roses. He and his father are also memorialized with side by side yellow rose bushes and a memorial plaque in a public garden in England. Obviously, the garden in the linked album is new and freshly planted, but will hopefully grow into a beautiful tribute to a remarkable friend.

A very special thank you goes to darkhorse23, feckingmorons, unfreakable, a_bilge_monkey, and sailorman_glh for their advice, support, research, resources, patience, on and on. Words cannot really convey all that these Farkers did to make sure that every detail was fully researched and every mission (within their power) was accomplished. If I had a month and an unlimited vocabulary I wouldn't be able to touch the surface of what this team did to make sure a mother was able to say goodbye to her only son, without having to worry about the nightmarish details.

So much love and gratitude to you all. So much. Fark is family. Don't forget that. Every one of you should be proud of the part you played in easing the turmoil caused by the sudden loss of a loved one. The vicar that performed the memorial service read the original Fark thread where his passing was announced. Many of you were directly quoted in the memorial service.

Carl was also highly regarded in the gaming community. If you play Syndicate, you'll notice a memorial mention of him at the end of the game. The following links go to obituaries from online gaming communities.

Thank you P, my friend. I don't know how I would have done this if y'all hadn't kept me laughing. And arguing. :)

It's weird how easily one's life can be affected by someone you've never actually met. I don't game at all anymore, our discussions were more me interrogating him about expat life. He had such amusing yet thoughtful answers to my often naive questions. Happy Birthday, fella.

Happy birthday, Carl. Still miss you. There is a shortage of cute, sweet gingers in the world.

I was sad to see his name pop up in the birthday list on FB this morning. I hope family and friends can remember the good times to help them get through the day.

I sent the facebook Gods everything they requested to memorialize his page so that stuff doesn't happen anymore, but people still get game suggestions and all kinds of things from his page. That's been 4 months ago and they haven't accomplished it yet, so....

FYI: by memorialize, it just means that suggestions and stuff like that will stop, his page and photos and everything would still be available for his friends to look, comment, whatever.

I sorta wish I still had access to his account, I'd post as him and say I HAVE ARISEN and REALLY freak y'all out.

2012-04-08 10:52:56 AM
dammit. i no longer have the picture i took for him of the HP sauce and Heinz can of beans......my local grocery store has the "international" foods aisle and one time, we got to talking about that....i took a picture of it for him.

he was a cool guy. remember talking about games and football and just shooting the shiat with him. sad to see him go.

rip dude

Much appreciated tribute, casey.lurvs.bacon. Really nice pictures there.

I miss the man something fierce and will continue to miss him something fierce. I thoroughly enjoyed goofing around with the guy here. He was sincerely appreciated.

Thoughts, prayers, and much respect to his family and friends.

It is not a dramatization to say that there is a very strong possibility that his remains may have not made it home to his mother without Fark. They didn't just help with the cost, THEY PAID FOR IT. All of it. With enough left over to make a sizable donation back to the Fark community for the next farker/fark family in need. (god forbid)

It's weird, fark is like no other place out there. I see people post, people I've never met in real life (except 2) and still when something tragic happens, it hurts as if it were someone I knew in the flesh world.

This. He fell and passed away a few hours later from internal injuries. He'd only been in Poland a few weeks for this new company.

Bless you casey, looking through the pictures made me tear up again.

How's the fund doing for his daughter? It's cool that the $ went back to Fark emergency fund but it'd also be cool if it went into his daughter's fund...

Is there someplace with some history on this? I'd be interested in reading it.

Not the injury part... but more on the personal side.

The child's mother has refused any donations. There is nothing that can be done without her cooperation. This issue was very, very thoroughly investigated by lawyers and financial advisers in the United States and in the UK and there very simply is nothing that could be done.
