(Entertainment Weekly)   Neil Patrick Harris was almost in Friends. Fortunately, he passed on the offer and managed to have a stellar career instead, unlike the three guys in Friends   (popwatch.ew.com) divider line 152

Just you wait, Subby. I see a "Joey" reboot in the near future.

2012-04-08 09:12:44 AM
I'm sure he would have made a lot more money on Friends than he does on How You Met Your Mother. Those idiots made mad bank.

I can't be alone in wishing Ross and Rachel didn't end up together. Seriously... neither could move on (for more than a few episodes at a time) in almost a decade?!

2012-04-08 09:50:18 AM
You mean the 3 straight guys.

I'm sure the three guys from Friends regret the tens of millions of dollars they made from that show.

2012-04-08 10:18:25 AM
Would you rather have steady work for a lifetime and be fairly rich from it, or get one enormously successful role that leaves you filthy rich before you're even 35?

Ha! You're programmed to measure success based on money and not personal fulfillment or job satisfaction.

This. They each netted a million dollars an episode for the last 2 seasons, something Neil Patrick Harris cannot claim.

Could subby be any more sarcastic?

Anyway, Schwimmer's done some good stuff since Friends -- he was good in Six Days, Seven Nights (the film is painfully slight but carried by the cast), and he did the better-than-you-know Since You've Been Gone, and he was in Band of Brothers.

Perry has had, you know, the drug problems, but he's done a couple of shows as good as or better than the better seasons of Friends. They just haven't gotten support from the networks.

Well, they're both cheesy sitcoms. so all things being equal, I'd choose the one that started when I was 18 years younger and got paid a shiatload more.

I saw him as a guest star on some stupid show recently. He looks beat to shiat. Whatever he was on is a helluva drug.

I think Aniston absorbed everyone else's powers of landing a role, which is why she still has a career and the others can't get arrested (that's just an expression, Matthew).

I also suppose in fairness how many sitcom stars going on to bigger and better things after their shows come to an end? Look at the cast from Seinfeld. Pretty much the best work any of them have done in the last decade were their appearances on the non-reunion show on Curb.

idiots? sound pretty shrewd to me. they actually formed their own "union" and held the studio's feet to the fire when it came time for contract negotiation.

The only ones from that whole group that kinda faded away was Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow. Everybody else had pretty successful careers outside of Friends

It's actually quite easy to understand when you factor in the fact that you're incorrect.

The missing point here is that if NPH took the Friends gig, he might not have been able to play the faaaabulous Nazi in Starship Troopers.

Closest he's been to one of those, amirite?

Schwimmer seems happy to be involved with one of the best theatres in Chicago (that he's also a cofounder of), Lookingglass (winner of the 2011 regional theatre Tony). Seems to be content with that, other theatre work and the occasional film job (I saw him a few years back at Lookingglass as George in Our Town and he was pretty damn fantastic.)

A friend of mine said this and I think it is very apt. Big Bang Theory is what dumb people think smart people are like.

Can't argue with that. And he was hilarious. Only thing he's done I liked. That and the aforementioned ST.

But Aniston's tits are set to Perma-Pokie, and that has pretty much kept her career going.

I have suspicions that she knows this, and uses these:

Most people have a hard time tolerating anyone who bases his associations on what TV shows they watch, so it's pretty even.
