Honest Bender: How is the Metal Gear Solid one an easter egg?

No idea, but it appears i didn't play any of the other games it recognized, because nothing like that happened for me.

Really? Hiding an easter egg in gigs and gigs worth of code. Try doing it in 4K. (new window) That's way more impressive in my book.

Yes, the bus to the 21rst century. But please continue your one man show of 'Old Man Yells At "The Cloud"' Why don't you tell us all about how you don't need your cell phone to take pictures or toast pop tarts, you just want it to be able to MAKE CALLS. That would be a hilariously piquant observation. Perhaps some long rambling stories about your childhood and the Jello and the pudding pops and the zoo bop bee and the zippity zip zow.

It's ok. Let him ramble. The real easter egg for facebook that he doesn't realize is when his boss is able to pull up proof of him doing something he shouldn't and fires his ass. Welcome to the 21st century!!

That's why it's technically an eater egg, I think...it's hidden content that only unlocks under certain conditions.

Although for all-time MGS boss fight mind-f**ks I still like the Sorrow the best.

Mantis will really talk lots of stuff if you have another Konami games, like Castlevania and Winning Eleven on the psx ame and Mario games on the Gamecube. Most of the time he talk about you based on how you played until then (soldiers killed, alarms, weapons, etc).

The real Easter Egg is that if you changed your controller to port 2 Mantis couldn't predict your movements. And during the entire battle he screams "Why can't I read your mind?!"

This. Also, ToS or not, why would you ever use your real name on the internet, and idiot employer demanding it or not why would you ever give them access to your FB? Personally, I don't use it for anything but coordinating with my WoW guild and FB games, but declaring with pride how awesome you are for not having one is as impressive as complaining about how they make it so difficult to set the clock on your VCR.

That isn't an Easter Egg. That's how you beat him. AFAIK it's the only way to get past him.

The best actual Easter Egg that I know is in Day of the Tentacle. If you use the computer in Weird Ed's room (you may need to do this more than once) it brings up a complete and fully playable game of Maniac Mansion. A full, complete, commercial game hidden inside its own sequel. Fantastic.

None of those were even in the top 5 for all time.

No excel flight sim? No Chris Houlihan room? Worthless list.

Which are for sale to the highest bidder. Just keep telling yourself that. Or a site like WikiLeaks gets bored with government info and starts publishing private social networking info. Hilarity will ensue. Here's another easter egg for you, you post privately to your friends how you want to go camping next week, and all of the sudden you start getting ads for camping equipment. There's your easter egg in action.

LowBrowDeluxe, if that's your real name, you might use a different name, but there's millions who aren't, isn't that the point? If the comment about declaring with pride was intended at me, please re-read my posts. I have declared nothing of the sort. Like I said, having info you think is sealed up like a drum become public is going to be the coolest easter egg. Well, right behind the one in Adventure. That will remain as #1 FOR ALL TIME as the subject states.

And high fiving yourselves over a TOS and relying on a for profit company to keep your private information secure is about as lame as bragging you had something to do with the making of a piece of software by being a beta tester.
