It's so sad to see a fairy tale romance fall apart like that.

2012-04-07 06:03:01 PM
Wow... who could have seen that coming?

/Humbert?

2012-04-07 06:30:15 PM
To be fair, she was what, 4 at the time...

2012-04-07 06:48:29 PM
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!11!

Karma seems to be the applicable thing here...

2012-04-07 06:49:42 PM
I should feel bad for her, but oddly... I don't.

2012-04-07 06:49:45 PM
If these two kids cant make it, then I can't see how anyone else can.

2012-04-07 06:51:24 PM
I can understand a middle aged guy falling in love with a young hottie, but leaving your wife and kids to fend for themselves and throwing away your career for underage poon, (and you cant tell me you weren't hitting that) is a dick move. You have ruined your life for a nubile little girl, and now you don't even have that. Have fun in FPMITAP.

2012-04-07 06:52:03 PM
Shouldn't have gotten fat.

2012-04-07 06:52:12 PM
So let's recap. This guy... gave up his wife and kids.. his job.. now he's lost his 18 year old girlfriend, and his freedom.

Sounds like someone's reaping his karma.

2012-04-07 06:53:55 PM
I'm sure on some level she was looking for an out.

2012-04-07 06:54:18 PM
Oh, and... yeah.

repeat.

2012-04-07 06:55:17 PM
Well, that's going to be an awkward feeling at the Thanksgiving table, isn't it?

Ed Finnerty: I'm sure on some level she was looking for an out.

yes. She had had enough. He's such a fool.

I read that as someone's raping his karma.

/actually it sounds like his karma is raping him.

I know that flings with young women and older men are fairly commonplace. But I have to imagine that most men would have the wherewithal to stop well short of ditching your family!

Wonder if there's somewhere he can write to about his sexual fantasy turning into a nightmare. Dear Crackhouse Forum, I never thought it could happen to me

These teachers, they are the salt of the earth. They receive a pittance from the state for a living, and in return, they sexually molest our children educate our precious young snowflakes. Next time a school levy comes up, please, won't you think of the rapists teachers

Reminds me of a joke I herd a few years ago...

Guy come home and finds his girlfriend hastily packing her suitcase and asks, "Where are you going?"

She replies, "I'm leaving"

He says, "Why"

She says, "I just found out you were a pedophile."

He replies, "Pedophile?! That's an awfully big word for a 12 year old..."

2012-04-07 06:59:31 PM
She was a newborn when he was 23. Weird!

2012-04-07 07:00:09 PM
I think the general consensus when this story first broke was that the relationship wouldn't last more than two years. Seems people were a bit too generous in that estimate.

2012-04-07 07:00:27 PM
He could hold her up pretty high at the bieber concert.
/god, how awkward would have those types of things have been

2012-04-07 07:01:25 PM
All other things aside, she's legal so I don't see a problem with it. I was dating a 19-year old when I was 31. Granted I was under the assumption she was 24 for some time. Hawt.

2012-04-07 07:02:36 PM
Still no justice for Glenn Beck's 1990 victim.

2012-04-07 07:03:34 PM
I'm sure no one expected this. And he deserves it. I actually don't care about a 40ish guy dating an 18 year old. I actually know 2 people who are in that sort of thing, and it works. A girl I went to HS with started dating a guy in his upper 30's when she was a freshman in college. Now it's 10 years later and they've been married for 6. The other is more creepy because it involves a guy I used to teach drumlines with. He's in his 30's now as well, and ended up dating a chick in one of drumlines after she graduated. They're married now too and have 2 kids. Still going strong as far as I know.

But if you're messing around with minors, you deserve to get both heartbroken and prosecuted legally. Adults are adults, minors are not. Stick with adults and hope for the best. The bigger the age gap, the higher likelihood it won't work out, but it is possible. And I don't begrudge a couple that makes it work if there is a big gap. You never really know how two people are going to connect.

But if one of them is getting with minors, they deserve as much bad shiat as possible. I get it. The boobs didn't just appear magically on her 18th birthday. So the fark what. Have some self control and wait til she's legal. And don't use your job to make it happen.

I don't care about creepy. People are into weird stuff and I'm sure there actually are 18-20 year old girls who really are into older guys. Creepy is forgivable. But illegal is not.

\The girl in the article was going to leave Hooker when she got to college anyways.
\\Big age difference relationships can work out...but they usually don't, even if they're legal.

2012-04-07 07:04:12 PM
Dude's an idiot. Lots of young girls like to get down with older guys....especially if the older guy is buying them presents, but they don't want to marry guys older than their dads.

And she was 18. It doesn't take much money to impress someone that age.

I guarantee it was this: "You're really mature for your age."

That line is catnip to teenage girls. They can. Not. Resist it.

It's fairly common for men in relationships with younger women to not go public about it until they're 18, for obvious reasons. Just thought i'd throw that out there regarding these people you know who only started dating those girls when they were 18.

Well he's in jail right now, hasn't been convicted of anything. If his accuser doesn't have any evidence it is going to be hard to get a conviction after all this time has past.

Oh I know. WRT the guy I taught with, I'm almost sure it started before she was 18. But no one really knows for sure an apparently it's working. Good for them I guess. Rolled the dice and won. If they would have gotten found out before she was 18, I wouldn't have any sympathy if he got prosecuted.

As far as the chick I went to school, that I know didn't start until she was legal because she was dating a buddy of mine and hadn't even met her now husband until she was 19.
