My Fellow Americans
The American President

By the way, The American President is really creepy to watch if you're a West Wing fan and you didn't know Sorkin used that show as a dry run. You shouldn't be able to quote a movie you've never seen before.

$5,000 per election? I suppose that'll buy them a form letter or an auto-pened Christmas card, but they won't get any influence. Today's high-level politicians don't whore themselves out until a couple of decimal places over.

Called FLIXPAC, the committee may now make contributions donations directly to federal candidates - up to $5,000 per election.

The copyright laws already cover piracy for profit. We don't need any more redundancy in the government.

I agree.

I'm just saying the lobby is formidable as all farking get out and it seems determined to pass something and soon by hook or by crook.

Netflix, your money would be better spent procuring rights to badass movies (even old badass movies) current hits or currently airing tv shows rather than some lame lobbying bullshiat that accomplishes fark all.

Hey Netflix!

Do you want to know how to keep people from pirating? Give them (relatively) cheap unlimited instant streaming of a wide variety of movies and tv shows! It's a wild business plan, I know, but trust me on this. We want easy access to our favorite media. Give us that access and we'll pay. Be more concerned with the 1% of people who pirate no matter what will just make people like me hate you and stop subscribing.

The amount of stuff I actually pirate has dropped by about 90 percent since signing up for netflix. But if they want to support draconian laws being passed in this country I can easily just stop paying them the 9 bucks a month and go back to pirating only.

This.

The only thing I refuse to pirate is Pixar, because--in my opinion--they've proven themselves to not be douchy. Their good deed before the release of UP made my grinchy heart grow 3 sizes. I'll gladly pay full price to take my kids and all their friends to see a Pixar movie in the theater. Most everyone else can go fark themselves; I hate dragging my ass out to the theater unless I know for a fact it's going to be epic. I'm still waiting for the 3D fad to either improve significantly, or go the eff away.

No. The President is like Leo McGarry. Michael J. Fox is Deputy Communications Director Sam Seaborn.

No. Michael J. Fox is Deputy COS Josh Lyman (lines like "I tell my dates all plans are soft unless I call to confirm 30 minutes before" is a Josh line, not a Sam line)

I suppose. I was basing my take on the Fox character being the speechwriter, like Sam.
