Jon Stewart is missing.

/he's still gonna get a second term

2012-04-07 02:33:21 PM
As Obama's re-election campaign shifts into high gear, several celebrities have criticized the president for failing to deliver on some of his old campaign promises. A few have even - gasp! - gone over to the Republican side...

Because surely Romney will fulfill those promises?

/Pull the other one, it has bells on it.

I don't care what any one of those people's opinion on movies is, let alone their opinion about the President of The United States.

2012-04-07 02:42:59 PM
Oh, no! People are criticizing the things that Obama has and has not done, like with every president in history!

I'm not crazy about all the decisions he's made, either, but he's shiat-tons better than the alternatives.

2012-04-07 02:55:41 PM
Let's see, a flip-flopping, magic-underpants wearing grand poo-bah, car top pet strapping guy who lost to the guy who lost to our current president, or, the guy who is in already?

Hmmmm.....this is a really tough decision...oh wait, no it's not!

2012-04-07 02:57:13 PM
I really won't be able to form an opinion on this until I hear from the former members of the cast of "Friends."

I'd be more annoyed if people didn't have criticism of Obama,

I don't like some of his policies or some of the things he's done, but I think a lot of people thought he was going to come in and just...fix everything. It just doesn't work that way.

My point is that these people's opinion about the president shouldn't carry any more weight than a normal person's.

But please, don't let me stop you from being a massive twat.

Twat, we haven't even met, why I got to be all that?

In 2009, Angelina Jolie reportedly said Obama would be a "one-term president," although the film star denied it. "Reported by who? By Us Weekly?" she asked. Actually, it was Fox News that made the claim, citing insiders.

So, the media wing of the GOP claimed that she said something that she denies saying, and that means that she's a right winger now?

OK then, I hereby claim that Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are all members of PETA and the Lady Ga-Ga Fan Club, and I cite over 9000 anonymous inside sources to back me up.

So there.

shiatty day, and I just happened to read your comment at the wrong moment. Sorry.

If Harry Belefonte, Barbara Streisand, Matt Damon, and Bill Maher are unhappy with you, you just might be making the right decisions.

TFA: Jane Lynch

The Glee actress said in 2010 that Obama had been "a huge disappointment," because he hadn't stood up for gay rights the way Lyndon Johnson did for civil rights. Lynch, who married her lesbian partner in Massachusetts after the state legalized same-sex marriage, said America's majority shouldn't be allowed to vote on the rights of a minority:

Gee, no shiat?

FloydA: OK then, I hereby claim that Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are all members of PETA and the Lady Ga-Ga Fan Club

Ya know...they haven't denied that. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

2012-04-07 04:17:34 PM
We needed a President who was better than the one we got.

In layman's terms, google Vince Russo and his jump to WCW.

2012-04-07 04:53:07 PM
We got as fine a president as one could ask.

2012-04-07 06:02:30 PM
So liberals aren't happy with a center right politician. Go figure. Next you're going to tell me that the far right won't be happy with a centrist President, either

MBK: I don't like some of his policies or some of the things he's done, but I think a lot of people thought he was going to come in and just...fix everything. It just doesn't work that way.

That's a popular Republican talking point but I think less people thought that then they claim. Even less would have being saying it if they knew the Republicans would be so obstructionist.

2012-04-07 06:27:43 PM
That was awesome, I loved the photos they used for everyone. You might as well enjoy it, this level of journalism is like reading the comics, it's not serious political commentary. You might as well base your political leanings on the latest Doonesbury or whoever the fark that Mallard is.

2012-04-07 07:13:41 PM
gene simmons is liberal? he's been a loudmouth republican for years. and none of the others will vote romney.

2012-04-07 07:39:25 PM

vygramul: We got as fine a president as one could ask.

Well, the better of the two available at the time, anyway.

Also, does anyone really think those celebrities will be voting Republican this time around? The best the GOP can hope for is a low turnout for Obama, since their choices are Obama-lite, batshiat crazy Catholic, and angry old baby.

2012-04-07 07:59:59 PM
I never have, and never will give a rat's ass what Gene Simmons thinks about anything.

To a lesser extent, that pretty much goes for everyone on that list.

/it's not like any of those people are going to vote for Romney

2012-04-07 08:03:57 PM
And yet, every one of them will probably vote for him again.

//The alternative is worse.

Well he did vote for Obama in '08, ergo, he's a liberal

But, other than that (new window)

2012-04-07 08:24:54 PM

FlashHarry: gene simmons is liberal?

I sincerely doubt that.

On any scale that labels Obama as a Socialist, Simmons is a leftist.

I hear Ted Nugent is pretty disappointed with Obama, too.

Gee, not even remotely surprised about what Gene Simmons had to complain about. He'd whore his daughter for a dime and he'd sell his grandmothers oxygen tank for a nickel if he could. Piece of shiat. (Also KISS sucks.)

MBK: I'd be more annoyed if people didn't have criticism of Obama,

There are people who have legitimate concerns about Obama's policies

They are then immediately declared racists.

Hollywood backed SOPA. So fark them with a stick, too.

2012-04-07 09:05:08 PM
Yes, Bill Maher is really pissed at Obama. Why, if Obama had done his job properly, he would have donated two million dollars to an Obama Super PAC instead of the measly one million he just gave.

2012-04-07 09:05:42 PM
I'm not happy with many things Obama has done and not done, but the alternative is a party thats gone batshiat crazy trying to out stupid each other.

2012-04-07 09:06:22 PM
Liberals criticize Obama for not being liberal enough so clearly his conservative opponent is a great choice.

I expect to see this even more when the real campaign gets underway and Republicans realize they have absolutely nothing to offer the country.

If they have a bumper sticker on their car that says "Don't Re-Nig" then they are actually racists.

2012-04-07 09:13:06 PM
Non-story. At least half of them will still vote for him anyhow. Being disappointed doesn't necessarily mean you'll abandon your principles out of spite.

2012-04-07 09:13:30 PM
This is like the liberals who whined about the Public Option and how Obama had betrayed them for not standing up for it. They seem to ignore or forget just how much political wrangling went on both in public and behind the scenes. That they literally had to bribe Ben Nelson to vote yes is a testament to just how difficult this was to pass that bill. Did anyone of these retards bother to note that the bill barely passed both House and Senate, and had a Public Option been included they would have lost just enough votes to not even make this feasible? But no, Obama betrayed us all yada yada yada.

As crazy as the right has become, the left does have its share of whiny immature dipshiats. While they may at least surpass the Tea morons with intelligence, they surely are petulant little babies that immediately just cry foul the first minute they don't get their way.

And yes I am a progressive, and yes I did want a Public Option. But not at the expense of having a whole bill get tossed to the curb because of it. Last time I was full time employee (and not a contractor) I was technically denied coverage for one whole year because the previous year I had no insurance. So I guess they figured if I did not fall down dead within a year I could get coverage. So during that one time I was actually eligible for employee healthcare, I in fact wasn't and instead had to pay out of pocket for dental and health. One year later I am finally able to qualify for the insurance...then I get laid off and am offered Cobra at a price that was batshiat insane (considering what my unemployment check would have been). So yeah, fark you libtards for being such whiny little children. You can't have it all at once. You seem to too easily forget this was one of the reasons you hated Bush, because he did want it all at once.

Yeah, I can really see her voting for Romney...

Not if they have actual points and aren't just, ya know, criticizing him on all the things G Dubs did in office when they were strangely silent. Or demanding to see his birth certificate with more fervor than they ever would have for any previous president. Or calling him "Obama" or "Mr. Obama" instead of "President" (though that one's more for other politicians and news). But just keep pretending that ALL those n-bombs and racial slurs at right-wing gatherings are "one-offs."

/besides, everyone knows liberals are the REAL racists!

2012-04-07 09:17:04 PM
why is Jane Lynch disappointed 0bama didn't stand up for the gay community?

He was a very much against gay marriage during the campaign and he still is.

My words don't suffice so I'll let Harrison Ford say what I feel about celebrities' opinions on pretty much anything (too big to load as image).

Liberal_With_a_Gun:

Or calling him "Obama" or "Mr. Obama" instead of "President"

yeah, what ever happened to the good old days when everyone referred to President Bush? Especially here on fark.

(though that one's more for other politicians and news). But just keep pretending that ALL those n-bombs and racial slurs at right-wing gatherings are "one-offs."

When you are talking about "ALL" those events, how many are we talking about? Do you have a citation?

/besides, everyone knows liberals are the REAL racists!

I agree with you there. When you vote for someone and cite their race (oh look, this is historic), then that is a form of racism.

2012-04-07 09:30:54 PM
lol Bill Maher: liberal

RS: You've been described as a libertarian.

Maher: I'm a libertarian. The line I've always used is, I would be a Republican if they would. Which means that I like the Barry Gold-water Republican Party, even the Reagan Republican Party. I want a mean old man to watch my money. I don't want a Republican to be funny. I don't want him to be charming. Because government is a sieve that takes as much money as it can and gives it away, usually needlessly.

I am for freedom, a waning cause in this country. The GOP - which used to be the party of freedom and getting government off our backs - is now quite the opposite. And it's because the Christian right is a parasite that has taken over the host Republican Party. Like any parasite, they're going to kill it. It's not their party. It's the party of Barry Goldwater, who was like, "If you're gay, so what? I don't want to know about it, I don't want to see it, I think it's kinda gross, but it's not my business." Which is a far cry from last year, when the legislature in Alabama outlawed the sale of vibrators.

Say "lieberal" or "Democrat party" or, even better "Demonrat party!!"

Well, what they SHOULD do is vote for Romney. He'll fix things good.
