Kotchman on via Jays error. The dual no-hitter/perfect game continues.

2012-04-07 02:17:53 PM
How long has a dual no-no lasted before?

2012-04-07 02:18:02 PM
Congrats Subby and Admins for ruining it. Don't tempt fate dumbasses.

Minarets: How long has a dual no-no lasted before?

Kipnis just ended this one.

F*CK YEAH, TRIBE!

2012-04-07 02:18:58 PM
...and done.

2012-04-07 02:19:30 PM
Jimenez is still going.

2012-04-07 02:20:04 PM
F*cking told you.

Well, that's done.

Looks like a game in 1971 went 9 innings hitless and scoreless then was decided in the 10th.

Ha figures the minute I post this something happens. Yes I am that powerful (no not really)

Sixth inning is usually Ubaldo's meltdown point. If he can get to the seventh, this thing might actually have a chance.

And we're done here.

Sports Illustrated and The Madden cover people approve of this jinx.

Thank you for the green and the Kipnis two-run jack.

Come on, Ubaldo...

Well, he's got nothing to lose. He'll be suspended after today. (new window)

His next start was going to be Friday. It will now be Saturday. Meh.

And he won't miss his turn in the rotation. They need to make suspensions more meaningful for pitchers.

2012-04-07 02:26:37 PM
Sh*t, Jimenez is now down to a no-no.

2012-04-07 02:26:44 PM
Perfect no more. No hitter still alive.

2012-04-07 02:27:38 PM
Even Soccer fans were yawning over this game.

To the best of my memory, every time a thread like this has popped up directly mentioning what is going on in the headline, it was immediately broken up.

I don't believe in a whole lot of unprovable things, but you don't tempt fate.

2012-04-07 02:28:53 PM
And he's through 6 with the no-no in tact

2012-04-07 02:29:31 PM
Way to jinx it Drew.

2012-04-07 02:30:30 PM
You don't start getting excited about this until the 7th, subby.

It's the seventh.

/I know that no one cares

It's the seventh.

For Jimenez, I mean.

Other than Bob Feller's opening day no-hitter, how many other MLB pitchers have thrown a no-hitter in their first start of the season?

It's funny - I say that all the time, but when I'm watching a game, I start to think about it around the 5th. I always have to tell myself that it doesn't mean anything until the 7th

STOP F*CKING TRYING TO JINX IT.

I though Jimenez was serving a 5 game suspension?

He's currently appealing but will drop his appeal after this game, serving his suspension this week, missing his Friday start and starting Saturday instead.

He did the thing that pitchers always do - he appealed so that he could get his start in. He'll drop the appeal after the game, serve the suspension, and have his second start only pushed back a day or two

2012-04-07 02:40:49 PM
Walk - flyout - walk. Two on, one out in the 7th

2012-04-07 02:41:04 PM
Second walk of the inning, 3rd overall for Ubaldo.

2012-04-07 02:41:07 PM
It's baseball.

ZOMG I'M ON DA EGE OF MY SEAT THIS GAME IS AN EXCITING .6% OF THE SEASON AND ONLY A COUPLE HUNDRID MORE PITCHES LEFT!!

2012-04-07 02:42:28 PM
Pop up to second. 2 down. Jimenez is at 91 pitches though.

2012-04-07 02:43:05 PM
Call me when the perfect game is in its 8th inning.

2012-04-07 02:43:22 PM
Bases loaded, go Jays.

2012-04-07 02:43:38 PM

Tie game.

2012-04-07 02:44:10 PM
Would've though Morrow would have more strikeouts if he made it that far.

In other baseball news, Mets and Braves tied at 2. Mets have home runs by David Wright and The Duda, Braves just got a 2-run shot from Prado. Wright's was the kind of opposite-field shot that we've missed so much since they built Citi Field almost specifically to take that part of his game away from him.

2012-04-07 02:44:18 PM
2 run single. No-no gone. Shutout gone. Lead gone

2012-04-07 02:44:52 PM
Damn, subby, you blew both games in 20 minutes, lol.

2012-04-07 02:45:21 PM
Is thread going to be redlit now that nothing on actual importance happened?

2012-04-07 02:47:09 PM
Schrödinger hates you, subby.

2012-04-07 02:47:22 PM
I tuned into MLB Network right as the Jays were breaking up the Indians half of it.

2012-04-07 02:50:54 PM
Well this is certainly a useless thread now.
