My weekend predictions from the other thread:

Sunderland 1-2 Tottenham
Bolton 1-1 Fulham
Chelsea 2-0 Wigan
Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa
Norwich City 2-0 Everton
West Brom 0-1 Blackburn
Stoke City 1-0 Wolverhampton

Manchester United 3-0 QPR
Arsenal 1-3 Manchester City

Of all the scores I hope I'm wrong about I hope it's the last one, but City is getting both Aguero and Lescott back this week and the Gunners just got done stumbling at QPR, so my confidence is not high.

Whoops, that should have said "title race", not just title.

Who are Liverpool playing today? Aston Villa with half their first team out with injury? Yep, that's a loss.

2012-04-07 07:52:06 AM
Make me happy today, Sunderland. Punish those Spuds

Tottenham are also fighting for third, not fourth.

It's way too early to be making these mental mistakes. I'm ashamed of myself.

Fixed it for ya, sir. And good luck to your Reds this weekend

Much appreciated on both fronts. And good luck to your Gunners, sir.

Really sloppy in this early game, a lot of missed chances and bad passes.

2012-04-07 08:26:42 AM
Not much to speak about this early game. Lot of half chances that are going begging for a finish.

2012-04-07 08:28:43 AM
Sunderland not threatening, Spurs are defending well today.

2012-04-07 08:33:40 AM
Pretty even half, Sunderland playing good defense.

2012-04-07 08:35:51 AM
0-0 at the half. Chances but no finishes. Ideal finish would be for Spurs to remain scoreless and lose 1-0

Is the headline a failure, or Is it pointing out that City and United are challenging for the title?

/City-Arsenal are in action

The title race is what I was going for, not the actual game. Sorry if it was confusing.

Makes sense in context. I'm also surprised Arsenal escaped mention in the headline. I thought there were rules about that

I tweaked the wording a bit; it was close to the character limit, hope it's more clear now

It was three years on Thursday since Macheda scored *that* goal against Aston Villa. Look how happy Welbeck was! Source ^

It's like Sunderland and Tottenham decided "Hey, let's have a game where we both give the ball away! That'll be fun!"

Well, this is boring.

For those of us red blooded Americans, Michael Bradley has scored for Chievo Verona, who currently lead 10-man Catania 2-0.

Mercifully, it's over.

Game. Let's respond tomorrow, Arsenal.

2012-04-07 09:52:16 AM
Okay. Liverpool NEEDS this win. Not for the league, but if they draw/lose, they will have 0 confidence going into next weeks FA cup match.

And time to get drunk early.

Just this kind of year.

There is no way this is a manager problem. Well, that's not fair to say as I don't hang around the training grounds. But KD can't go out there and score goals for the team. We have talented players, our guys can not score a goal to save their lives.

Even with their successes in other competitions, I still can't help but think that a mid-table finish will lead to Dalglish's departure.

He needs the second trophy. Second place won't save him. But if Liverpool win the FA cup, that is a successful year. 2 trophys, he keeps his job, period.

Cough.

Good win for NUFC yesterday - makeshift defence, two substituted because of knocks and a decent team playing at home beaten 0-2.

But at the same time, you have a manager whose responsibility it is to light a fire under these guys and have them trained up enough that when it's game time, they get it done. Kenny pulled a masterwork this time last season, now his team are absolutely collapsing. I give the players their stick, but these are good players who have no confidence. That's on Kenny.

When there is a lot of talent but the team can't quite get over the hump, it's very, very difficult to not blame the manager. People will look at training practices, player selection, substitutions, and basic ability to motivate players.

A lot of what they've had is bad luck, but at some point people will demand a change. Who else can they blame?

Chelsea, Chelsea. You don't take multiple shots inside the six yard box and not score.
