Is this the point in the thread where someone points out that the Black Widow character has been portrayed this way for 50 years and just because Joss Whedon gives the one relevant female character in the movie something to do doesn't mean that the Avengers is going to be some kind of post-Buffy feminist anthem?

To be fair, that is pretty much what Black Widow does in the comics too.

It would be nice to see Black Panther make an appearance, especially the Marvel Knights reboot, which would have BP kick the Avengers' asses before asking them for help...

Yep.
Though IIRC the movie changes Moist's character a bit:
they toned him and his abilities down a notch (while he still rides that wild horse they're bringing for him, he's not asking them to remove the saddle; it just feels a bit like that last punch that takes things over the top is missing) and focuses more on the love story, which in turn changes some of Moist's motivation: I remember the movie-Moist being more focused on atoning for his sins and winning over Adora than doing stuff simply because of the thrill; the movie doesn't really show the crook-against-crook, the they-can-smell-their-own, who-is-the-better-crook, personal level on which Moist and Guilt are actually fighting behind their public facade.

You should check out the GameFAQ's Comics and Graphic Novel board sometime; it's seriously like a 1950's Elk's Lodge around there. About once a week we have to figure out if She-Hulk or Power Girl is the bigger slut.

I agree with RoyBatty, it takes some serious editing skills to make it LOOK like she can kick some butt. The only FLUID looking movements she does in Iron man 2, is when she sprays the guy in the face with pepper spray(most likely she had done that before to someone).
