RobSeace: Police initially told her she could keep the money if no one claimed it, but later said it was part of a drug investigation.

On Thursday, after the case drew national attention, Assistant Clay County Attorney Michelle Lawson told reporters the money could not be tied to a criminal investigation, and that Knutson would get a check.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: Marcus Aurelius: She'll get a check for the whole $3000. After all, the cops have to cover their handling expenses.

Which means she'll end up with the entire $1200.00

What's important is that she'll get the entire $100.

this waitress is busting arse to make a dime, her family is on hard times and her local police choose to make life even more difficult. people that are morally bankrupt, vindictive and outright insulting should not be public servants. the last thing this poor lady needed was to be publicly humiliated. shame on you police responsible for this. i take pleasure in knowing that statistically most police will wind up divorced alcoholics. you deserve it.

I could give my two cents on the subject, but that would double what she's going to get back from the government thugs.
