FTA: A gay couple will use the traditional White House Easter Egg roll Monday to lobby President Obama to sign an executive order banning workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation.

DO IT, BREEDER

the derp on this is going to be fantastic

"Obama is attacking the deep religious tradition of Easter. Now excuse me while I put my bunny ears on and hide eggs for my children to find...just like Jesus did."

Aside from maybe churches and other religious institutions that hire lay people, I find it hard to believe that there are employers out there who still discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. And, I find it very hard to believe that companies large enough to get Federal contracts (Lockheed Martin, Dell etc.) do it either. I know in most State's there's not a law against but I think the fear of law suits and bad press is enough to make companies not do it.

Fart_Machine: The comments are a black hole of Derp.

indeed, this was one of my favorites:

That is what we thought here in MA. Guess what? Catholic Charities can no longer offer adoption services as a result. Children are hurting and families are having a harder time adopting here now because of gay marriage that supposedly hurts no one.

Total bullshiat, my wife's cousin has adopted 2 children in the past 3 years and they have talked to us about the process indepth and they had no problems. People like the above poster and many right wingers want to outlaw adoptions for gay couples and abortion but don't actually want to adopt any children themselves.

This. A thousand times this!! I didn't think to read them until you mentioned something. Now that I have, I weep for the future of humanity. Also, FWIW, you have to consider the source. This is the Washington Times not the Washington Post.

Wow, you aint kidding.

FTAC: I use the definition of "Gay" or Lesbian as mentally ill.
It was defined that way for many years but then the Nutjobs who masquerade as Psychiatrists said it was OK.
I also like the Old Testament's way of treating such people as condemned to a terrible life.
This idea of legalization is a sick way of having society approve their deviant lifestyle.

What year is it down there?

That's good but I think I like these two better:

So morality is relative? Then my morals tell me homosexual "love " is nothing more than narcissistic lust.

What sickens me is to see the foster homes with gay "parents." I work with kids and see it all the time. It's sad to see children taken out of homes where they were abused, and then put into a home where they are exposed to corruption and immorality on a daily basis.

I don't know what's more amusing. That Easter eggs are just a Pagan hold-over, or the persecution theme seems to favor the LGBT crew more than the WASP bunch.

The derpy comments on news stories like these only reinforce the view that these people run in very small circles. The tide has turned. Claims that most Americans find homosexuality repugnant or are threatened by its existence is just not true. Most Americans dont care what others do.

Here's an actual quote from the comments...

They don't have the right to celebrate their sin and perversion during what is supposed to be a Holy Day. The Lord's word is clear on such behaviour and what happens to people who partake in it.

The Holy Rolling of the Easter Eggs?

It's definately a demographic thing too. I'm in my 20's and I've yet to meet anyone my age who things that gays are immoral deviants, even amongst young conservatives. They just don't care anymore.

Homosexual marriage is pursued as a means to an end. Homosexuals, by an exceedingly large margin, do not wish to get married or to form civil unions. Rather, they want to be accepted as normal. Their hope is that public approval of homosexuality will follow the legal establishment of homosexual marriages.

I think they're wrong. A piece of paper will not change minds. Might make themselves feel more "official" but it won't change the minds of those opposed to gay marriage. That will take time.

It's a matter of cause and effect. You're right -- homosexual marriage in itself won't directly affect you. The problem is the overall decline of society that allows homosexual marriage to begin in the first place.

I don't see that as a decline, the way of the world is change. Nothing static remains, or should remain.

Society's been on a decline for a long time and Ayn Rand has had more to do with that than gays.
