You can't deny Torts is a good coach, but his random outbursts are pretty unnecessary since he's representing a fairly classy locker room of players (I hate the Rangers "brand" as B's fan, but it's hard to actively dislike a team of abhorrently underrated guys like Dan Girardi blocking 500 shots a game and completely bought into a system, undersized Brandon Prust carrying the "enforcer" label for them for stretches of the season, etc).

There's "outbursts" from a coach to take the heat off of his players, and then there's "Tortbursts".

What the 48 game 94 season that Lemieux had retired the first time for? Oh yeah, he was the best player in the league (next to Jagr) but he certainly wasnt the best on the planet, that guy took a year off. And, BTW, he won MVP the next year when he came back...

I didn't say he was always the best, but at one time he was, Jagr mostly held on to the coattails of Lemieux for dear life. Look how well he did in Washington and NY so he doesnt even come into the argument.

We are getting away from the point. PIT crys, they cry a lot, they get to get away with it because Crosby IS the best player in the league right now. Just like in the days of Lemieux and Gretz, the best players are protected by the refs.

We will see how it ends in the end. Even with PIT getting home ice, they do not match up well with PHI. The series will be hard, but Crosby will be out in the first 2 games with some type of injury and Malkin cannot handle it.

4-1 Philadelphia win....
