Lame. Most Sox fans quit caring about the Cubs after the Sox won the World Series in 2005.

I would have thought Ron Swanson would root for a winner, not the Cubs.

Can't find a good pizza on the north side? That's alright, I don't like south side pizza. The one consistent topping on a south side pizza are bullet holes.

South Side is such a shiathole. At least Cubs fans are employed.

Most Sox fans are from the South Suburbs, which as you know are all bastions of taste and sophistication.

That was funny. Go Sox.

/Cubs fans don't eat pizza. They eat pasta with Bartman Ball sauce.

Which is why they sell out all those day games. Because they all have jobs.

FTFY

From my experience, Sox fans have more of a complex than ever and definitely care more about what the Cubs do or don't do, than Cubs fans do about the Sox. I tend to think it's because that while they did win a World Series, they are still the "other" baseball team in Chicago, and that doesn't sit well with them.

The Cubs are still playing baseball?

/Good for them.

If you havent won the World Series in 100+ years your team should be demoted to AAA.

Nope. Not going to watch a video with a couple of FIBS trying to be clever.
They will never be interesting.

From violent spectator incidents list on Wikipedia:

"May 16 - During a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field in Chicago, a drunk Cubs fan grabbed the cap off the head of the Dodgers' Chad Kreuter, starting a bench-clearing brawl in which Dodgers players entered the stands to fight with Cubs fans.[51] Sixteen players and three coaches were ejected and suspended for a total of 76 games."

So.... baseball thread? Snakes are up 3-0 on homers from CY and Goldie...

This may be my suburbanness talking but Division seems a little far South for an...um...dividing line for "Real Chicago". If you wanna rag on Wrigleyville at least go up to North.

Chupacabra Sandwich: So.... baseball thread? Snakes are up 3-0 on homers from CY and Goldie...

The Cards murdered the Brewers 11-5, and Kyle McClellan gave them three of those 5 in the 9th. Highlight was three homers in the third (two back-to-back from Beltran and Holliday, Freese hitting a two-RBI shot) and Nyjer Morgan making fools of us by... forcing an out while setting up a double-play the next AB.

2-0, SFSG.

No, its because they just hate the Cubs, they don't even care about the sox.

My boss sent that to everyone in the company Yesterday. This was before the Cubs opening day game though. I asked him how he, little Tommy, and his parents felt about the blown save.

/How do you feel about the blown save to open the season??

I believe only 1 team has gone at least 90+ years without a WS win. I know this really isn't an excuse for any team but given the state of the AL and NL over the years there is some problems for both teams being really good in years when other teams were just great. A few decades in which the Sox were good the Yankees or Indians were tops and same goes for the Cubs when the Pirates or Mets or in most cases the AL pennant winner in the 1930's or just NL West teams in the playoffs.

Brewers blew a save for the opening game in '11. Ended up winning 93 games.

/Not that the Cubs could ever win 93 games...but still.
