Texans open against Manning and the Broncos? Sounds like a nice start.

4 away games in a row? This had better be a farking joke.

GAT_00: 4 away games in a row? This had better be a farking joke.

I'm thinking this is not real. Notice the Broncos have 4 home games in a row.

2012-04-06 11:33:39 AM
They really should have used the Steelers/Ravens game as the Monday Night Football opener.

Week 2 Thursday night, Peytons going down!

11'25 Cardinals @ Seahawks...

Could have been an epic MLB Opening Day troll, but they didn't publicize the leak well enough. FAIL.

As a Lions fan I'm hoping this is real... Monday Night season opener at home vs the Packers? Yes please.

WTF is up with the Thursday night game every week on NFL network?

/though I don't mind the Bears easy start to the season
//thank goodness they didn't put Bears-Packers within the first two weeks
///they've done that the past 5 years straight it seems

2012-04-06 12:31:40 PM
I doubt that is the final schedule, simply because I know they want as many divisional games as possible in the final weeks and this schedule doesn't really have that.

It's part of the new TV deals. Personally, I think they should give the teams playing on Thursday nights a bye week before the Thursday game. If they care so much about the players' health, that's what they would do.

/Of course, we all know better.

2012-04-06 12:32:19 PM
Well, I'm eagerly awaiting the St Louis Cardinals v LA Rams matchup in week 15.

2012-04-06 12:33:24 PM
Bears first 6 opponents: @Titans, @49ers, Rams, @Jaguars, Vikings, BYE, @Cowboys

A lot more road games than I'd like, but that has 4-2 or 5-1 written all over it. 49ers are the only challenging opponent in the bunch.

2012-04-06 12:33:57 PM
Can't decide what Bucs game I want to go to Rams or Chiefs, I have not seen them win in person yet so i figured that these two games have the best win percentage.

No

highbrow45: As a Lions fan I'm hoping this is real... Monday Night season opener at home vs the Packers? Yes please.

Yes :)

If the lions actually won (real possibility), this could be the great new rivalry in the Midwest. With the Vikings and bears likely to suck for at least a few more years, a lions-packers rivalry is very much needed.

How do you think they'll do this year? Besides Jackson (I hope he gets free cab rides in his contract) I haven't really followed them but they seemed to have gone all out

2012-04-06 12:45:35 PM
My gut says this isn't real. They have the Ravens/Steelers matchups on weeks 1 and 11, but neither are in primetime.

2012-04-06 12:46:24 PM
I counted about 3 potential Chiefs wins with that schedule. I call BS. The Chiefs are only good for 2 wins.

2012-04-06 12:46:53 PM
As a pack fan, I can see 13 wins without any craziness. NFC Central should do well and sneak into the playoffs (Bears and Lions).

2012-04-06 12:49:12 PM
The Seahawks schedule is enough to call bullshiat on. One division in the first nine weeks?

2012-04-06 12:49:54 PM
Seems to have too many extended road trips/homestands to be real. Pats would open with 5 of first 7 at home, then go on the road for 4 in a row (with a bye week after the first game), then play 3 in a row at home, end with 2 in a row on the road. Plus I think only 3 prime time games, which seems very low. Between the 49ers, Texans, Broncos and Ravens I'd expect at least 2 of those to be prime time games.

/Fully expect FOX to protect the Pats-Niners game though

Mateorocks: I counted about 3 potential Chiefs wins with that schedule. I call BS. The Chiefs are only good for 2 wins.

The matchups are determined by a common-knowledge formula based on comparative record and rotating divisional pairings. We knew the who as soon as the clock expired on the last game of the season. All the NFL schedulemakers determine is the when.

That said, see my previous post.

2012-04-06 12:52:39 PM
If true,

The 49ers play the Lions, Giants, and... the Saints. EPIC ENOUGH? Unfortunately, the Saints are at home. I would seriously look forward to the signs in the stands at Candlestick for that one. Hopefully there will be some SF fans there.

2012-04-06 12:54:01 PM
This is obviously a fake. No way do the Redskins play 4 division games in the first 6 weeks. Also, Bengals-Redskins on Monday night? Fat chance

We've got the NFC West and the AFC South as interdivisional match-ups. I'm not saying those divisions suck, I'm just saying those divisions suck. Good year for the NFC North should be on tap.

If the Bears and Titans did play on week one, the Bears would be leaving 0-1.

I was so happy to see we get the NFC west, and AFC south is at least the 2nd weakest AFC division. Also excited if we get the season opener again.

Yeah, our road division games should be the hardest. Maybe the 9ers and saints too.

Whoever gets the Saints in the first four weeks or so (Panthers, Eagles, Raiders, Falcons, if this is to be believed) is going to be ecstatic.

Division rivals of those teams are gonna be pissed, though.

The Week 17 schedule is left open so they can put games with playoff implications in the 4:15 slot (along with any western time zone games, of course), and they put a game that has definite playoff implications on the Sunday Night game.

You might think so but there's a solid chance the NFC West picks up two playoff spots.

The NFC is actually going to have a good playoff race. The AFC sucks.

They play two Monday Night games on opening weekend now, one that starts early for the east coast and one that starts late for the west coast. And usually the late night west coast game isn't one anybody wants to see, so that matchup fits perfectly.

/I kid, I kid...

If, IF, this is legit, this has to be one of the worst Monday Night lineups in history.

Bucs-Raiders
Bengals-Redskins
Titans-Vikings
Eagles-Browns
Buccaneers-Giants
Dolphins-Cardinals
Jaguars-Titans

Holy balls, these are either blowouts or just shiat-fests. Go look at the Sunday Night Schedule - hard to find a stinker in that lineup (and they always have the FLEX options).

What the fark did ESPN do to the NFL? Is this still retribution for Playmakers?

I know, I know. They managed to hold off until week 12. Though we still get a "resting the starters for the playoffs" match-up in week 17.

/though if the Pack have the playoff bye wrapped up, they may want to reconsider the 'rusting' Aaron Rodgers for the playoffs strategy that worked so well for them last season

Sounds more like a Madden generated schedule, then. I still occasionally play Madden '08 on my PC and I've seen 6-game home/away streaks, but I've never seen more than three in a row in the NFL.
