Instead of doing another one of THOSE threads, can we just take a minute to bash CJ Wilson for tweeting at a pace that rivals teenage girls?

@CJWilson- Full count on Longoria. Totally throwing him a high inside fastball. #4Seam

@CLWilson- Just gave up a 3 run homer. #FML.

I'm more confused by Brian Wilson's tweet-to-follower ratio.

Not an A's fan, but Brandon McCarthy (@BMcCarthy32) seems like a cool dude and is worth following.

Also, not surprised at all San Fran and Seattle are the most "active teams on Twitter". I mean, think about it.

Nick Swisher: 1,256 followers/tweet
CJ Wilson: 9 followers/tweet

From that I think we can safely assume that Nick Swisher is 139 times more interesting than CJ Wilson.

Uncapped, but do what soccer does with their shiatty teams that refuse to spend the money to compete in the bigs.

i agree!!
what payroll has to do with twitter or facebook is beyond me.
that comment usually comes from non baseball fans or fans in which their team sucks.

My team WON the World Series and I agree...baseball needs revenue sharing so it can be more interesting with parody like the NFL. The funny thing is, the more the Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs spend, the more they dont win!

Awesome unintentional humor.

/Or was it?

Baseball should reduce its season to 16 games, that would create far more parity than any salary cap.

/what interesting is that the Phillies are the most popular of those teams on Twitter.

2012-04-06 12:50:22 PM
But Philly has more twits.

You basically just said:

"Baseball needs increased revenue sharing so that small market teams can spend more and win! But spending more doesn't help you win!"

It's true.

I'm a Yankees fan-- you people have no idea how badly it hurts to live during my team's two-year championship drought.

These are trying times...

I wonder if it's possible (probably) and worthwhile (no) to make a correlation between how "good" a team's fans are and the team's ratio of Facebook likes to Twitter followers, since somebody who likes the team on Facebook is claiming to be a fan, but a Twitter follower actually cares about what the team is doing/saying.

Ratings drive the rates for broadcast rights. The Yankees and Red Sox get the highest ratings. National TV revenue is shared among all MLB clubs.

Thus, we need to lower TV ratings and reduce the amount of money shared.

Yeah, recently he's seemed to make a habit of the "I swore off Cap'n Crunch and lost 30 pounds this offseason!" stuff and then finding them as the year goes on.

Ha, they just showed a replay of Longoria's homer off Proctor last year that sent the Rays to the playoffs and eliminated the Red Sox...the only homer in recorded history in which the pitcher who surrendered it left the mound with a grin on his face.

At least give him credit for picking a uniform he can expand into. He's like a sea snail, or something.

As much fun as it is to blame Girardi, he didn't walk the leadoff man to set the stage for the whole thing.
