What fraud? Can someone show organized voter fraud?

Irrelevant.

There is a Constitutional right concerning voting--and paying in order to do it in some way is a poll tax, which is unconstitutional. There is no Constitutional right for the general public to enter a particular Federal Building at all.

That settles that. Now for a beer.

Is this actually what passes for intelligent thought at Hot Air?

If you're not actively trying to blow up Diebold voting machines, I'm not particularly interested in hearing about your outrage over "voter fraud".

Are we going to have to bring out the national guard just so people can actually exercise their right to vote?

FTFA: "The Obama-Holder Department of Justice has launched an all-out war on voter ID and other measures," former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell said upon launching a new initiative called Protect Your Vote."

Ah, Ken Blackwell, the guy who supported voter suppression tactics like House Bill 3 (Caging) (new window) , refusing to process voter registration cards unless they were printed on 80 lb (new window). paper, and gave a no-bid contract to Diebold (new window) to run its elections. Not to mention openly serving as President Bush's 2004 Ohio campaign co-chair while being the Secretary of States in Ohio at the same time.

It says that the admins do not have time to read each and every article submitted. We go through over 2,000 headlines daily, more if an important story breaks and we get flooded with news flashes.

No, but there's seemingly monthly articles published on GOP electoral fraud.

SphericalTime: What fraud? Can someone show organized voter fraud?

First of all, Obama got elected. That's pretty clear evidence of fraud right there. But even in local and state elections, black and other poor people vote. Since they only ever vote to get government handouts, that seems fraudulent. Also one time there were some New Black Panthers somewhere near a polling station. They weren't doing anything, but still, they were there, so that's probably enough fraud to justify lots of laws.

I'm an admin. However, completely refusing to greenlite headlines like this, or articles from sites like Hot Air would, IMHO, be discriminatory on our part.

Personally, I don't agree with the article, nor the headline, but the submitter has a right to their opinion, no matter how stupid it is.

Which is one of the major reasons I avoid the politics tab as much as humanly possible.

I'd think people would want to show ID as a way to get past partisan hacks at the polls claiming they don't have a right to be there.

In most places you need an ID to get into certain county buildings. For example, I need to show ID if I want to go into the Lane County Courthouse. You're also required to go through a security screening too, even if you're an employee or a juror.

Aarontology: I think it's stupid you need an ID to get into a Federal building too.

There's a compelling interest in keeping track of who is coming in and out of some Federal buildings (or state, or county, or city) since they're typically high-visibility targets for whack jobs.

Then again, I believe we should all be getting free state IDs if we don't have DLs. For some reason there's people who are against that idea, though.

I didn't greenlite this one, but as I said before, the admins don't have time to read the articles, so how would they know they're trolling bases solely on the headline?

And it's common practice amongst certain submitters to write a headline that has little or nothing to do with the article itself.

Some are pretty obvious. Anything from World Net Daily, for example. Most things from Hot Air or Daily Caller, as well. On the opposite end, just about anything from CSM is going to be a good, solid, informed piece, regardless of the headline.

What I'm suggesting here is that tending to avoid certain sources isn't evidence of bias, it's just good common sense.

I can see it after a certain point in the building for security reasons, but to just get in is bothersome. Especially if the person actually has legitimate business, but for whatever reason doesn't have the ID.

So seriously you're saying that fark does not intentionally greenlight trolltastic headlines in order to maximize page clicks? I am willing to take your word for it but from my perspective as a long time poli tab junkie it really appears that you do and that you indulge the trolls who show up for sport because it's profitable.

Honestly there is a lot of disagreement in the poli tabs but the perception that fark chooses it's greens based on trollability is something we all seem to agree on. It may be that we are ALL wrong about that but the perception is real and perhaps that should be addressed.

Every time you, and I don't mean the generic "you" but rather you specifically, upload another comment here, that is one less thing that someone else can upload somewhere else. I definitely have that perception. I think it happens with lefty links too, like DKos and HuffPo. I think some sites just warrant a closer look, especially if the headline contains any mention of race or whatever the left's equivalent would be. (I'm blanking now but it exists.)
