You're Israeli? I was under the impression you were an American.

One, one rocket, not rockets. Not launched by the Egyptian government. But sure, Israel has the right to do whatever the fark they want. The five Egyptian cops they killed at the end of the article mena nothing because they obviously had it coming.

Boy what a shocking turn of events. You mean an uprising in the middle east is making things worse over there, not better. Who would have figured? Let's here from all the Arab Spring people who went on and on about how this was the best thing ever.

Tatsuma:

And its two rockets.

A Grad rocket has landed in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, but has caused no damage or injuries, Israeli security officials said.

Well, then the BBC needs to work on its grammar.

Israel wants the Sinai back now that Mubarak is no longer on the US payroll and our relationship with Israel is souring.

Good luck.

2012-04-05 12:21:42 PM
This requires a multi-pronged approach.

First, we must convert a handful of peasants into entertainers.
Second, we must bring any troops supported by Eliat back to Eliat.
Alternatively, we could switch the government to Communism. (But this would throw us into anarchy for a short time and that wouldn't be good)
Finally, we should start producing alpine troops or marines immediately.

This should get the city out of unrest and back on track to a productive contributor to the country.

How dare Israel get attacked again!

2012-04-05 12:22:36 PM
Not sure what motivated the attackers to launch an attack on a construction site during a time when no one was going to be there. Reminds me of a certain plane hitting the pentagon in JUST the exact point where no deaths could occur. Odd.

Hey Cumstain. While I appreciate your politics you're being quite offensive in your expressing of them, which makes me instantly dismiss you. Perhaps the internet makes you feel that proper discourse on a subject isn't necessary to prove a point. This isn't 1995 anymore my friend. It wants it's proper grammar back.

Yes you are.

Heck, to be fair, it barely makes it to Israeli media as is. It's going to be like 'Major News. Politics. Entertainment. Weather. Story about a handicapped cat that's really cute. Closing Credits with a quick 'oh and by the way 12 rockets were fired from Gaza in the last two day, no one killed'

Thanks a lot. I am in Jerusalem, though, so GRAD rockets fired from Egypt are highly unlikely to hit anywhere near where I am. On the other hand, if fired from Gaza, I am inside the line of fire, but I believe I have 100 seconds to make it to a bomb shelter, according to the army, so I'll be alright.

thanks for your concern.

As soon as I saw the headline I knew who would have posted the initial comment in this thread. Must be nice to have your own personal propaganda site.

All I have to say is that if you wouldn't fight back against people who'd invaded your country with the weapons that you had access to then you're a farking coward.

eg Imagine that Mexico invaded Texas. Any Texan who didn't fight back with any means available would be a coward in my books.

Its an unguided point and shoot rocket. A lot of times in this case they are launched on a ballistic trajectory to boost the range and let the launchers escape. The people who launched it probably pointed in the general direction of the city and let it rip. I doubt they could truly pinpoint a target the size of a city block let a alone single building.

So your answer is, then: it wasn't aimed as much as "I fart (rockets) in your general direction!"

As an aside, I didn't see anything about the Israeli's threatening the Egyptians in the article and the diplomatic row at the bottom of the article was from an incident last year.
/headline is trollicious.

Most of these rockets have crap accuracy. They're usually lucky if they hit the right town. Plus the launchers don't want to stay in one spot too long.

Not a troll. If Egypt cancels the peace treaty with Israel, then the Sinai is returned to Israel. Not only does Israel get plenty of new land, this puts Israel on one side of the Suez. Bing bing bing!

While rocket attacks from Egypt is uncommon, they're not exactly unheard of events. Plenty of documented attacks happened before even a whiff of the uprisings.

Everyone who rails on Israel defending themselves should ask themselves this simple question; "What if it was happening to your city?"

What if a neighboring country was firing rockets into the city you lived in. How many deaths would you find acceptable before demanding the United States put a halt to it by any means necessarily? Ignore the geographical concerns right now, but say Mexican drug lords were firing rockets into your city. Over the last decade hundreds have been injured and scores killed due to these rocket attacks and tens of thousands of rockets were fired.
The Mexican government seems powerless or unwilling to prevent these attacks.

Would you find it acceptable?
Or would you be demanding the US military intervene to stop it.

We already know that answer don't we?
On 9/11 we lost almost 3,000 Americans.
We invaded Afghanistan because of it and it has led to the deaths of anywhere from 10,000-30,000 civilian deaths, over 10,000 Afghan military deaths, and 1,100 US military deaths.

For the lose of 3,000 Americans, we sacrificed 45,000 others. A 15 to 1 ratio.

We were not done yet. We invaded Iraq on the justification that they were helping Al-Qaeda, building weapons of mass destruction, and helping terrorist.
We killed over 30,000 Iraqi troops, 4,500 US military deaths, and over 100,000 civilians.

Over 140,000 deaths over the lose of no Americans this time. Iraq hadn't even attacked us, Iraq hadn't even sanctioned a proxy group to attack us.

And yet we get on our high horse and demand Israel not defend themselves from the direct attacks coming from their neighbors?
